No rolling pin... yes... at last a sensible cook!!👍 I learnt by sheer laziness today, I don't need a rolling pin for scones!😅 And I've just been watching a few videos going into lengthy detail of leaving the dough to rest (twice, as if it's bread!) then strict instructions on how to use your rolling pin... enough to put me off watching You tube recipes for life!! 😫 Then I found your very sensible recipe... you brightened my evening Zola! xx I've been meaning to try vanilla in scones... I'll give it a go next time!

Tried this recipe from just noting down the ingredients and quantities cause I've done scones before so I'm pretty familiar with with the process. To my surprise the dough came out sticky that I couldn't knee it till I had to add flour in small portions amounting to another cup. So I rewatched the video fully.....then I had her say THE AMOUNT OF WET INGREDIENTS YOU POUR WILL DEPEND ON THE DAY.....then I knew I should not have tried this recipe. To those reading the comments before attempting, sign your register here 😄😁😂

Hi Zola. I love the simplicity in your recipe. Whenever I try with baking powder they become hard😫😫 I even use self-raising but I want to master them with cake flour. What am I doing wrong?

I think you’re probably just over-baking them. Scones are a quick bake, so don’t leave them in the oven too long. Keep trying, practice makes perfect when it comes to baking, the more you do it, the easier it becomes 😊

Hi Stephanie 😊 Try cutting thicker scones, don’t flatten the dough too much. Also, give the scones a rest in the fridge for 30 minutes before baking them so the butter chills before baking… see if these tips help. Happy baking 😊

You’ll need a scale to measure accurately for baking… but 60g butter is about 4 tablespoons
