It seems this method could be used to fabricate machine gun barrels also. I need to fabricate a control stick for my 1/72 P-40, I think stretch sprue might be the answer..

For sure, David. I have used this for gun barrels too. Hypodermic needles work great there as well. But as you say, I think stretched sprue is the way to go for the control stick.

Thanks! More on the way. On the foil, I use Amaco medium weight (0.010" thick). Depending on your scale (1/72 for example) you might prefer the lightweight. You can get it online or at Hobby Lobby or other craft stores.
