When fabric masks were the Go-to I made about 2400. All donated to veterinarian's offices, elementary school classes (those little kiddos forget them or sneeze into them), doctor offices (to cover their paper masks), security companies, local service people and so on. Now I'll be making these. Your creativity is amazing and so is your generosity! Thank you.

Hi, I haven't made or worn masks in a few years but with the high forest fire threat this year I decided on a refresher course on mask making. These are much more fun then regular masks. Thank you

I think it's a great idea to be able to customize your ear loop elastics. If you make them longer you can still use the toggle, but can also join them in the back with an ear saver or paperclip to join them at the back of your head for the best fit with no ear stress. I do have a health concern about the breathing resistance that putting two layers of quilting cotton on top of the KN95 causes, especially with the hot days of summer coming up. You're already there in FL! We know that it's safe to wear a KN95 for extended periods of time, even for people with asthma, but even for healthy people, that kind of breathing resistance puts stress on the heart and lungs, especially if you are exerting yourself, worse in the heat. I like the idea of customizing the fit, and having a cover on it when I stash it in my purse, but don't want to add too much breathing resistance. Here's an idea if you mask another mask cover design -- A one layer design with a sheer, very breathable fabric, since we don't need it for filtration. That means dealing with the raw edges of the fabric, probably with bias tape. Thank you so much for all your mask designs over the past couple of years!

Excellent new mask tutorial, you are keeping up with all the funky new rule changes they keep throwing our way. I've been adapting your 3D reversible face masks to incorporate either a 3rd fabric layer or a filter pocket. Here in western Australia we have a closed state border. It's cut us off from the world to protect us but also delayed having the constant need for mask wearing. That is soon to charge. In the meantime you are my go to mask guru. Keep having fun with the fabric and thanks for the support. 🇦🇺💜🇺🇸💚🥰💯👍

The best . I’ve seen so far … blending the kn 95 … my box of disposables with my fabric. It’s true I prefer the look of my own fabric and having the ear adjustment the way I want it. You keep it coming for this strange fashion statement which is still saving lives. Thank you. Marjorie from GEORGIA US. 🤝

Superb video. As a beginner, I very much appreciate you using different colored thread in your demos. It's what makes you the shiniest, craftiest person! Also, it would be cool to learn how easy/difficult it would be to switch out the frayed elastic as I'm sure it happens often where they wear out or maybe if I didn't sew it in properly and it snaps out. TIA.

Oh, thank you so much. I commented on your last video for this exact cover. Knew I could count on you to design it. I tried, made a bunch of mock ups but they didn't work too good. Again thank you so much. My husband was recently diagnosed with cancer and every little bit helps. Even though no fabric masks are allowed in the doctors office or infusion centers they'll help when we're out and about. ❤🤗

Nice cover:) hey Timothy I have a request for project for next winter. I bought two Walmart quilts and want to make window covers to keep the house warmer. Velcro is so expensive thinking over magnets and magnetic paint instead... Maybe you can think of other ways to create a good seal on the windows. I live in Northern Idaho near the Montana border. Gets cold here
@timothytotten94093 жыл бұрын
I’ll have to think that over. Would a quilt be awfully heavy just to hold to the wall with magnets on magnetic paint? It’s an interesting question.
@heymom19483 жыл бұрын
@@timothytotten9409 I bought the inexpensive thin quilts from walmart, the same type you used making a project a while back. Magnets may not work for my three largest windows (3' x 5') . I did find some less expensive off brand velcro type that comes in 25 yard rolls. One thought for magnets, using rod to fasten to top of window to hold the weight and magnets to seal to frame...

Thank you. I am someone who needs to see how things are done, not a seamstress :) I have been wanting something like this as it will prolong the life of the original mask, only need to wash the outer cover. Just need to figure out how to make a flap to run the elastic through so it can easily be removed and changed when not so elastic any more. Have a great day, stay safe. Looking forward to more of you videos.

Thanks, Timothy. I was asking for these in your origami mask video, and you came through! I wonder if you could skip the elastic and sew ribbon on the inside of each side, then slip the N95 mask elastic under the ribbon. This would save some sewing time.

Hey Tim what do we do if we have masks that have the elastic going around the head already? The government issued masks that are available in my area by my neighbors are all the sway. They are super comfortable and very breathable. The elastic is placed verb close together on either side I would say maybe a half inch apart at the most. How in the world would we be able to attach a cover for this setup?

I usually suggest actually watching at least the first few minutes of a video before commenting. It helps you not only pose a more appropriate question but it might even answer a question you thought to ask before watching.

Oh my God, it’s hard enough to breathe through these KN95 masks and now you want to put a cover on top of it? And besides we shouldn’t be using KN 95 we should be wearing N95 *** I think you are altering the effect of these masks by placing a cotton cover in front. You could be compromising the health of everybody who does this. You should have consulted the manufacturers of these masks before making this video**
