I took my Shahada July 14th in private, just me and Allah. ❤ I have the urge to pray but I do not know any Arabic. I find myself confused, overwhelmed and I also battle imposter syndrome. I will be saving this but I am not really ready to do it in Arabic. I’d love to know the English translation first to understand and really connect to what I am saying. Thank you so much 😊

as a fresh revert, get the quran with the trasliterations. It's going to be very helpful. Its Arabic words with english letters so you can pronounce your surahs and ayats with a lot more ease. Also get the book "fortress for muslims" its a tiny book with transliterations of what to say and when like "what to say before you go to sleep" May Allah make this journey easier for you and us non arabic speaking muslims.

I learned that during sujood and after saying how perfect is my lord the most high that we can then ask Allah for what we want or thank him or pour our heart out to him. Also are we not to say Allahuakbar after reading surah Iklas and going into the first rakat? I have to re-learn this also ,i was Muslim a long time ago but stepped away when i lost my father to Suicide , i can remember a little arabic like Allahu Akbar and As-Salaam-Alaikum, it was the Palestine in the news brought me back to Allah how strong is their faith even though they are going through sheer hell that i should have such a strong faith in Allah they still praise him even when they had loved ones who have been killed or they are injured and may have loss many loved one they still praise Allah , i myself having lost a father i am about to lose my mother to terminal Cancer and my sister ( i have only one ) who has thyroid cancer and i have both physical and mental health issues i face a lot but nothing in compared to what the people of Palestine are going through .

Very difficult . I want to be a good Muslim but I don't understand , Arabic . Then they say if you make a mistake your prayer will not be accepted . It is so difficult . I don't have transport to get to a mosque so someone can teach me . I am 72 years old in may the 1st 2024 . And the video that they make to teach people , they talk so fast .

Im sure you're doing perfectly fine,,, as a revert too, In Islam everything starts with the Intention.Allah sees your intention before anything, I'm not Arab,but Sheikh Mishary AlFatiha recitation helped me aloooot. You can try too. I also thought it was hard but it really isn't. Rakats: think of it as a round. Each round begins by standing, bending then prostrating,and voila.however on the second and 4th rakat: we 'sit' before we stand..it's really simple..when u know it,u cannot forget😊

As salaamu laikum sister. I have a question to ask you. When you’re a beginner how can u pray if you do not memorize or understand. Can I use a notebook with the words on them until I do or can I listen to a tape of them reciting? I feel discouraged because I am not fluent in my prayer. May Allah guide me and help me pray properly. Insha’Allah

Last year, I participated in Ramadan ... and listened to the prayers in Arabic. I couldn't say them, so I listened. My brother fowarded me all 5 prayers. There is a man demonstrating and saying the prayers super slow. It helped. This year, I did better. But I think Zhur, Asr and Maghrib are prayed silently ... so that helps a bit. (I still try to say it along). I hope this helped

This is different from the way I’ve learned to pray. When I said my shahada I got a book from our mosk, how do you know which is the right way to perform salah? ❤️

From what I’ve learned people pray differently but it doesn’t matter so long as the pillars of the salah is there. In Islam people follow different schools of thought but as long as we follow the basic principles in prayer, it’s fine so just do what’s easiest for you ultimately as long as those pillars of the salah is there, you’re good. Allah knows best

SalamAlaykum sister. This wasn’t a question for me but just wanted to answer. Just as you mentioned, it’s sunnah and not a mandatory pillar of the prayer. Saying it is good but omitting it will not void your prayer. When I learned to pray as a kid, i wasn’t taught it. I recently learned this dua a couple of years ago when I wanted to learn how the prophet saw prayed.

I made my Shabada 10 years ago. However, I'm 83 and simply unable to do these poses. I'm sure Allah didn't create Islam just for young. Healthy people, so what to do,? Also I don't speak Arabic.
