If you like jalapeños you will love this bread. This is a nice medium hot jalapeño cheese bread that will blow your socks off. You won't be able to find anything that compares to it on the shelf and it is remarkably easy to make. No-kneading... Mother Nature does the kneading for you. No yeast proofing... instant yeast does not require proofing. No mixer...ingredients are combined with a spoon... This recipe uses jalapeño peppers, olive oil, and cheddar cheese and has a wow factor of 10.
Thanks - Steve

2021-03-22 💗🍞🥖Steve Gamelin taught me to bake my own bread. I have been making them for almost three years, I mix with dried garlic powder, all kinds of dried herbs, curry, nuts, seeds etc. but also, cinnamon, honey or with extra sugar then you get sugar bread :-) No one makes bread so fast, simpel and much easier as 'Steve from no knead bread'. I thank you a lot Steve😃 Much loaf love from the Netherland

At the pizza place I worked at *cough-domino's* this is basically how we make the bacon-jalapeno stuffed cheesy bread. When you flatten it out just run a line of mozzarella cheese down the center with some sales bacon crumbles and peppers. Fold over and roll like you showed. Then garnish the top with cheddar and peppers again. Ta-da! Bacon jalapeno stuffed cheesy bread!😀

I made this yesterday. I used a little less jalapeños and since my family loves cheese I added a tad more. I cooked mine in a springform pan because my dutch ovens aren't oven safe. And let me tell you this is THE best recipe ever! No knead is so easy and quick. The bread had a beautiful airy texture and gorgeous crumb. I was so pleased with it. I cannot wait to try your other recipes.

Thank you, Steve, for all your wonderful recipes... I've been using them for a couple of years now, and have never been disappointed. I prepared the dough for this jalapeno cheddar last evening, allowed it to proof on my counter overnight, and baked it this morning. It came out so good... followed your instructions to the "T", but included the jalapeno seeds, 'cause we like the heat. Just finished a delicious turkey sandwich made with it. Out of this world good! Will be making this often!

My loaves came out insane. Ok i used artisian baking flour (actually got at 99 cent store) minus jalapenos. Used block extra sharp cheese and cut in much larger chunks. Let sit for 8 hours. Proofed in reg. bread pans for 2 hours and used a foil tent. Removed foil for the 3 mins. Used about 1.5 ounces of shredded cheese on top. And omg these are the best. Also used 2 tsp of Himalayan salt instead of 1.5. Perfect extremely fluffy kinda hard to cut but who cares. Thanks it's a keeper. Be nice to add some garlic in this one too. Oh ya and I used 1/2 tsp of fast rising yeast. i don't know if it mattered or not but omg the place still smells wonderful.

I like the way you make little changes to the recipe, so do I. I use unbleached baking flour and whole wheat flour, usually on a two to one ratio of baking flour to whole wheat. I haven't been able to bake for several months due to shoulder injury and now recovering from shoulder surgery, but plan to start again in Nov. or Dec. I've been craving homemade loaf bread....Blessings to you you and yours!

Over the years, I wanted to learn how to bake bread, but my few attempts turned out badly. Then about 5-6 weeks ago I found your videos, which made it look so easy and I've been baking several times per week till now. I've got the cinnamon rolls, sweet rolls and pizza crust down pat and today I'm going to make the jalapeno/cheese bread. Thanks, bud, for making it so easy.

If you are handling jalepeno's (or any hot peppers) with bare hands make sure you IMMEDIATELY wash them very well. The heat from cleaning the membranes and seeds can burn. Just sayin'. LOVE your breads Steve!! Every one of your bread recipes I've tried turn out great. Thanks. This bread looks pretty and delish!

Washing will help but does not get all of the oil or whatever carries the heat. If you handle more than a couple, wear plastic gloves, and never EVER touch your eyes for a few hours after handling high heat peppers. I know this from experience. I once foolishly cleaned a dozen or more jalapenos at once with bare hands. Even though I washed them thoroughly with soap, vinegar, baking soda and whatever else I could think of, the burn lasted for hours. AND, I forgot and cleaned a contact lens. OOOOPS!

Just bought two of your Kindle books Steve! This is the happiest bread making process I have ever used. Everything is fresh and wholesome, not to mention Deelicious! Thank you Steve for carefully repeating each step in the same way so that I can see the simple, various changes that are used for each recipe. It is all very exciting. By the way for anyone interested; Instead of a baking stone which is too heavy for my weak hands, I use a perforated pizza pan. The bread dough browns beautifully all over, top and bottom.

Thank you for an easy recipe and wonderful directions!

I love making this bread. I always use fresh jalapenos. Instead of mixing the cheese into the dough, I just sprinkle it on top before baking, as this keeps the dough a bit lighter and the bread less "heavy"...plus who doesn't love crusty baked cheese bits? 😋

Hey Steve, just wanted to thank you for the videos, I started watching them about a year ago, while sitting in front of the fireplace , watching the coals burning down and thinking "wouldn't it be cool to bake something in there" . Loved the recipes, probably made a dozen or so batches over the past year. I put a spin on one and made cheddar and chorica, my Portuguese wife and co-workers love it. One cup of chorica, diced to about a quarter inch and a cup of shredded chedder, three or four slices of the sausage and some cheese sprinkled on top to garnish.....yum....thanks again.

Baked this today for the first time, using a baking stone for the first time and it turned out great Steve. You were right on with the baking time at 30 minutes. Being a rookie, I made a rookie mistake, by not letting the dough rest for a bit before I tried to form it into loaves. I tried to force the dough to do what I wanted and as a result, ended up with loaves that were on the flat side. It didn't hurt taste or texture in the end though and I'll know better next time. I used Mark Witt's steam in the oven technique which helped the crust, I think. Thanks for your recipe and advice Steve!

Now you have gone an done it Steve! I was reluctant to make this bread as my wife hates hot peppers while I love them. Bought 4 Jalapenos from the store and a bag of cheese and DARN if she did not love this bread and even suggested I combine it with your Mediterranean Olive bread. Hmmm sounds like a good experiment. Or possibly using a jar of Muffuletta spread. I'm gaining weight just thinking about this. The main problem is to avoid wolfing this down in one sitting. To achieve the same shaggy dough consistency of your dough I've used the following as previously my dough's were always too wet and not shaggy when using King Arthur Bread Flour: I targeted 75% Hydration: Flour 14.3 oz, 405 grams: Water 10.7 oz, 304 grams: I used your volume measurements for all the other ingredients. Thanks again and is their any other way to show support for you other than buying your books?

Nice kitchen! I wish my kitchen was as spacious as yours, your kitchen looks like the size of my apartment! Haha! Thanks for uploading this video, I really do love Jalapeño bread, the first time I tried Jalapeno's in bread was in a bagel and I didn't understand why it wasn't a huge hit, they're delicious! I'm going to have to try this soon.

Good morning Sir, I stumbled across this video a couple years back while sitting in the living room looking at the coals in the fireplace and thinking " hmmm, what could I cook in there....?" In any case, I didn't end up cooking in there, but have made many loaves of bread using your method, making Chourica bread this morning, and experimenting with a French's dried Jalepeno with three cheese mix too. Thank you for your videos......

I noticed you didn’t oil top nor give a wash before baking. What affect would a wash or oil do before baking ? TY looks awesome

Hello Steve, I'm a loyal follower. Is there any reason I couldn't bake this bread on my baking stone without the vessel? I would add steam to the oven for the I initial few minutes. Would the baking time and temperature remain the same? Thanks as always.

Yes, it can bake it on the baking stone, but you may need to change the baking time... check it after 30 minutes. Steve
