I didn't realize he hadn't been around in so long. Steve helped me bake my first loaf of bread ever ~7 years ago, and it very quickly turned into a weekly thing. I haven't bought a single loaf of anything since discovering this channel, and I learned how much fun baking can be because of him. I really do hope Steve is well and in a good place.

@@RevShifty Same here. My first bread was from his teachings. I'm so glad his KZbin channel is still there because there's many things that haven't done yet. And like you, I truly hope that he is well and enjoying his mature years. I only wished he had you come back to KZbin to let everyone know that he was, let's say retiring. So funny! I don't know what happened two nights ago. I made the very first loaf of bread that I ever saw in his video. It was an overnight bread. Overnight. My bread Rose beautifully. But my second rise was a flop LOL but the bread still tasted good.

I have watched MANY bread videos and I have yet to see one that was as fantastic as yours. Not one person mentioned the simple trick of using the spoon handle instead of the spoon itself. You literally made the entire bread dough (excluding proofing and baking) WITHOUT editing the video. THAT is what I've been waiting for. You are fantastic! Thank you SO much for sharing your recipes, tips, and ideas! New subscriber right here. 😊

I love the spoon handle, too. I watched someone else's video and she did give Steve credit but misspoke and said he used a wooden spoon handle. I just HAD to leave her a reply. Well, I didn't have to but I did...
@judycee92634 жыл бұрын
I used a wooden spoon the first time and the dough stuck all over it. I just happened to have 1 plastic mixing spoon that came with a gift bagged mix of some kind. I don't usually use that spoon, but for this it is perfect. No sticking and way better than using a spoon the 'regular' way.

Mr. Steve, I made this bread today using your Turbo Bread method. It came out delicious! I’ll be making it again this weekend with my grandchildren. One step I changed was to add the flour, cheese and salt in a separate bowl to make sure all the cheese was evenly incorporated. Then I added to the water and yeast and proceeded with the recipe as usual. I use a loaf pan. And guess what? I found your white spoon at the Dollar Tree! Works much better for my arthritic hands. I use a modified technique of your original “No- Knead” method. I have an oblong crock pot ceramic vessel with a glass lid I got at a thrift store for $2, and replaced the plastic knob with a cast metal cabinet type. I do the process as you describe the night before, when ready to bake I Pam the inside of the crock, and pour in my proofed dough. Starting with a cold oven set at 450 degrees I time it for 40 minutes duration, rotating it half way through the session. I leave it in the oven after removing the lid and give it an additional 15 minutes to brown the crust the way we like it. This avoids the hot pot transfer step, which I think is hazardous for a senior like me, and also obviates the cleanup of the small pan too. Keep up the innovations you have shown Steve, it makes this fun bread thing so easy. ☺
@bbredingtonable4 жыл бұрын
BeachsideHank, I'm sorry for the newbie question, but exactly what did you mean by "rotate it halfway through?" I liked that you said it avoided a hit transfer, and I want to make sure we're on the same page. Thank you!
@landseavideoescapes45023 жыл бұрын
I know this question is 9 months ago, but I think BeachsideHank meant to spin it around in the oven just in case your oven doesn’t cook evenly, like mine!😊
