I made this the other day. I added the oats,puffed kamut, mixture of quinoa and chia seeds and a 1/3 1/3 coconut flakes, 1/3 cup of crunchy peanut butter and the 1/2 c + the tablespoon of maple syrup, Came out awesome still with nice clusters added 1/3 c of cacao chips. After it was cooled. It was heavenly. Next I’ll make with my fave seeds, pumkin and pecans. Never buying granola again ! 😊

What can you use instead of maple syrup to bind? Would coconut sugar or date paste work?
@FeastingonFruit
@FeastingonFruit 8 жыл бұрын
Brown rice syrup would work. Coconut nectar would work. Agave might work. Date paste will make it soft and chewy. You could even try dissolving coconut sugar in water and boiling that down to make a syrup (like this: thecoconutmama.com/coconut-simple-syrup/).

@AnnieFireLovly
@AnnieFireLovly 8 жыл бұрын
Any type of syrup will work just have a differnt flavor, if you dont have syrup at all use any thick, liquid sweetner. This can include molasses or make your own syrup with sugar and water boiled and reduced down.
@andyl2139
@andyl2139 8 жыл бұрын
The crunchyness is due to the sugars in the maple syrup that form into crystals when the water content is evaporated due to the heat in the oven. So you can substitute it for agave syrup, honey (if not vegan) or make your own syrup with water and sugar :)
@FeastingonFruit
@FeastingonFruit 8 жыл бұрын
+Vaishnavi Shekar Yep, these are both great answers. Agave, brown rice syrup, bee free honee, date syrup, any of those will work. Date paste will not however, it will just end up soggy. You need a liquid sweetener that will crystalize while baking to make it crispy :)

3 cups dry to1/2 liquid. If I wanted to add say a half a cup of whatever I wanted how much should I adjust the maple syrup? Can I add 1/4 c peanut butter and 1/4 c seeds? Without adding more syrup? Haha
@FeastingonFruit
@FeastingonFruit 5 жыл бұрын
Yep, that's the ratio, so you can play with the dry ingredients within that 3 cup max and the amount of maple syrup would still be the same. But if you add peanut butter you would need to add more dry ingredients or decrease the maple syrup (although then it won't be as sweet). T
