Thanks for this video. This is a much easier way to make the hourglass block instead of cutting each square on the diagonal twice. I love your fabric collections. Very beautiful, and that you paint them first is truly a talent!

Great demonstration... please close the rotary blade each time you place it on the table...like when squaring up your half square triangle & Hourglass blocks. You can get CUT & BLEED your moving hand/fingers. Another to show best practices, is to turn the clapper over to absorb the heat, rather than just reusing the same side. So many people new to quilting are watching every single move, so please think of Safety first!

You are so right Nancy - especially about the rotary cutter. (It's a little nerve wracking being in the RBD studio sometimes and I forget things like that!)

I see you aren’t using steam. Am I correct? Can u tell me why?
@ArtistTaraReed3 ай бұрын
I honestly can't remember if I did or didn't - I usually use steam but it would be however the iron was set up in the studio. (It's fun but a little intimidating with a whole crew so I sometimes forget details)

Great video but you never say what size square you are using.
@ArtistTaraReed3 ай бұрын
Sorry about that! The finished square is 12" x 12"
