I would say go for the explore air model. The 2 is what I have and I have no desire to get the new one or the maker. It does every thing I want and was a much better price.

I agree with that. Go with the explore series. Sometimes the 2 is on sale for $180. Still pricey but definitely not as much as the Maker. I think there are only a couple things the explore doesn’t do. It can’t cut wood or fabric or do engraving but i haven’t really had much need to do that.

Also came to recommend the Explore line for a slightly cheaper alternative that does nearly everything a Maker does. And as a general PSA: if your local library has a makerspace and/or a “library of things”, they may have a Cricut available for public use and/or checkout. It’s not super common in my area, but it is something my library offers!
