In this project I’ll be showing you how to create these cute polymer clay leaf beads. They can be used on their own on a piece of chain as shown or can be integrated into a more complex design.
They’re really fun to make and can be done with many different materials. Today I’ll be using foils and marbled clay, but you could use anything you wanted. With a coat of resin they are the perfect gift and are great fun too. What more could you ask for in a project.
Please like, share and subscribe for more polymer clay tutorials like this one.

She certainly is dedicated to her craft! I’m not sure I could do all of that while teaching as coherently as she dose, but she makes it look easy! Guess that’s a sign of lots of experience! Keep up the good work girl!

I do appreciate that you 'keep it real'. Sometimes you seem to rethink options. You do not operate via remote control, you maintain a keen eye open for potential changes. And if something does not please you we are allowed to see your process as you regroup and make lemonade from lemons. (I do not ever see lemons but you share the fact you need to spend a bit of time focusing on something.) No one has 100% perfection all the time. Thank you for sharing reality, and your skills.

I would love to see tutorials on the square pieces! The yellow one is gorgeous! It reminds me of an exotic coral or sponge of some type. And the writing behind it? LOVE! The piece as a whole makes me think sea captain or sailor writing to his love back home and including a bit of the sea for her. 💙

Another idea would be, just before you use the tape use a toothpick and slightly deepen the foil more into the vein so the tape won't get that deep into the veins. Then you'll get a more indept with the foil. 😁Just a thought.

Hi Samantha. I love your tutorials. I find that your commenting is precise and interesting, informative and enjoyable without being at all annoying, as some of the tutorials I've watched seem to be. I'm wondering if you've done tutorials on the square pieces you show in the resin stage? If so, I'd love to watch them. Can you provide the titles for them? Thanks so much. I admire both your creative artistry and your professionalism. A great combination.

Your video was very informative as usually and when I get time to watch you I am always learning, like the liquid clay as a back covering. I remember when these new color liquid clay came out but you are first to show a way to use them and doing wet dry sanding and turning around and doing a dry sanding, wow!!! Thank You So Much for sharing your talents!!!!😋

I love all your tutorials! Would love to see how you got that gold waffling on the square pendant. I have a question for you. Could I add black ink to some liquid clay to make it black? I'm unemployed, so I can't afford to buy black liquid clay right now.
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 6 жыл бұрын
You can try using black liquid, but it might come out looking a little more like dark purple rather than black as some inks can split (I use Adirondack inks) It's worth a shot though.

Hi Samantha’s! Ruthie Kiley here. I’m new to polymer clay so I bought some cheaper sculpey clay to learn and some cheap “fimo” copy claycheapbut they’re very soft after working them. What can I add to the clays to harden them a bit? Would Kato or Cerritos help harden them?thanx, I trust your expert opinion. 😊😉😍👌
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 6 жыл бұрын
Those clays really aren't worth working with. I bought a sample kit of the sculpey 3 and it's rubbish. It's soft when raw and brittle when baked. I'd buy a clay brand like Premo, Kato, Fimo Professional, Cernit, Souffle or Pardo. They work really well. This is what I did with my sculpey three. www.jessamatutorials.com/polymer-clay-texture-stamp-2.html

Hey Samantha I am soooo glad that you demonstrated the ranger foils. I just purchased some and couldn’t get it to adhere to the clay very well. I burnished it just like Lisa Pavelka demonstrated with her foils but did not get the same results. I didn’t think it was possible to use the ranger foils in that way but you showed me you can. I am going to go back and try again. Any suggestions for success would be appreciated.
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 6 жыл бұрын
I find that they adhere better with heat rather than pressure so maybe put something warm (not too warm) over the top of the foil after you've finished burnishing. A wheat bag might work.
@ChrisAndCats
@ChrisAndCats 6 жыл бұрын
Jessama Tutorials i was under the impression that the ranger foils need something sticky rather than heat (i have some for my papercraft) but i also have pots of gilding flakes that look like they'd work very similarly to the gold leaf sheet you have. Cosmic shimmer and indigo blu do flakes if that helps?

W by do you call them beads? I don't know if it's a language thing or my education, but I slays thought of breads as a round, oval, square, etc... But something like this wouldn't it be a pendant?
@JessamaTutorials

I guess it might just be that I'm from South Africa and we can call it pendants or beads. Technically it's a pendant, but I don't think calling it a bead makes that much difference.

The resin is obviously poisonous. But is the resin you use particularly strong smelling? Most I see say use a respirator in a ventilated area and do not touch bare handed. If you de seek medical attention Is yours "safer" or just you e worked with it enough you know it's limits?
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 6 жыл бұрын
The resin I work with doesn't smell much at all. I open all the doors once I'm finished using it on the tutorial as the doors have to be closed during the tutorial to prevent noises. The respirator is only needed for the really bad resins such as the polyurethane resins. Those resins are also really toxic and I always wear gloves. I don't touch the resin as I've had a lot of practice avoiding getting it on my hands. If you were to get a lot on your hands often then I'd recommend gloves. But I never get it on my hands. All the people I've seen using this resin don't wear gloves. It's not as toxic as most of the other resins.
