I absolutely love crunchies. I use my granny's recipe from about 100 years ago. It's almost identical except for the ginger and cinnamon. I'm going to try adding those. I have kilos of homemade candied peel and will add those in to my next batch. I've also used muesli instead of oats when I ran out. It's such a forgiving recipe.

Love crunches, will try your receipe, my dogs love them too😅 therefore I will leave out the cinnamon and nutmeg in my batch. I just have to say you looking a few years younger than when you arrived on the farm, as you getting things organized you are doing your chores with more ease.😅

Oh wonderful to see this. I made a batch the other day. My mom always made these growing up in Zimbabwe. I melt syrup & bicarb on the stove top....fizzes, let cool then add to dry ingredients. I also add chopped dates or raisins sometimes. I will try the ginger & cinnamon next time xxx

Cool, this recipe. Did not know. I'm going to try to make it, but instead of maple syrup I'm going to use corn syrup. I love oatmeal. Here at home [it's common to make a banana cake with oats, it doesn't use wheat flour, just oat flakes or white sugar, I use raisins to sweeten it.
