An excellent way to become very proficient and talented at the art of creating yummy food. Something that’s much more important than makeup or what’s the latest thing you need to worry about. You will nourish and enrich the lives of people you care about ,and most importantly, your own life 🌟

Definitely making this recipe 😋 I'm a 71year old widow, been baking my own bread since I was 16. Made a homemade rye bread for my sister for Christmas. It was a dessert bread made to be eaten with cream cheese or jams. What my sister did will forever break my heart 💔 The following Christmas my sister gave me a beautiful wrapped gift, she had frozen the bread I had given her and that's what in the package 😢 I was very upset about it, so much that I stopped making bread until I was in my 50s. Seeing this video has inspired me to make my bread again and this is the perfect recipe. Caraway seeds are the best and smells so delicious 😋 Have you tried also adding just a pinch of dill weed 😋 thank you for your recipe and encouragement. God bless you and your family 👑🙏💞✝️🐾🕯😍

@heikechilds2816 Ohhhh my yummy 😋 I keep molasses in the house for when I need brown sugar and make my own. There isn't much that tops the smells of fresh baking in the house 😋 Have a blessed week 👑🙏💞✝️🐾🕯

I love dill in bread. I’ve never made rye bread but bought rye flour so now I have no reason not to. Now I have to decide on dill or caraway, maybe both.

Maxine, I'm in my 70s also. I understand your broken heart! Please make your special rye again and enjoy it for yourself! It sounds absolutely delicious. 😊

@Ozziecatsmom Both would be awesome😋 especially when you make a sandwich. Corned beef or pastrami with a touch of horseradish and mustard and Swiss cheese. Toasted for breakfast with sausage and eggs! Yummy 😋

I have made this recipe many times and it is excellent! Highly recommend. I use honey and molasses interchangably and it works great. I also often omit the seeds if I want the bread to be more subtle tasting for sandwiches and snack bread. Thank you John for the excellent food as always!

I made this it smell amazing. I'm going to wait to cut til its cool , but I'm dying to see and taste. This dough was a delight to work with. I usually go manual but the stand mixer made a nice dough. Going to make this again if it tastes as good as I believe it will. I used a thermometer and baked til it was 207 F per Google rec. 😊

I really love rye bread! It’s also a favorite of my husband, but he hates seeds of any type in his bread. He likes the flavor of caraway, but not the texture of the seeds I guess. I was happy to find ground caraway in our store. I just love that flavor in rye! Thanks 😮for another great recipe.

John, I consider myself an experienced bread maker. I am loving this rye recipe. I do have a rye recipe I use, but it's one that rises overnight and doesn't have such a beautiful crumb, so I am going to try this one. Also, when I have stress in my life, I often watch your channel and it 'grounds' me and is very soothing to watch. Thank you, Sally.😊 P.S. I love toasted rye bread with peanut butter.

I’ve made this a couple of times after the recipe was linked in one of the Preppy Kitchen newsletters, and it came out great. The only thing I change is to omit the caraway; it’s one of the only 2 foods I have an aversion to.

I don't have a stand mixer or room for one in my small kitchen. How would you make this a No-knead bread?
@maxineb959812 күн бұрын
I often make a no knead dough. After balling dough, cover and rest 8 minutes-- fold a few times-- rest 10 minutes-- fold a few times-- rest 8 minutes. Then shape dough, etc.

May I ask, why not instant yeast? I have never seen active dry yeast in my local grocery stores here in South Australia, and I can sometimes access fresh yeast, but not always. I've always baked my bread with instant or fresh yeast.
@maxineb959813 күн бұрын
Even if a recipe statrs active yeast, I only use instant yeast but just add it to my dry ingredients. I wouldnt stress about not having the active yeast.

As a German baker I wouldn’t call this rye bread. There is no Saure dough and way too much wheat flour.
@maxineb959813 күн бұрын
Maybe not to professional bakers but to many home bakers, its not going to be the heavy bread associated with Germany.

Really? You have a weighing scale and you are using these silly and unreliable cups and spoons? That does not make sense. A weighing scale is much more precise than those silly little spoons.

I'd rather have a steak. You definitely lost me with the vegetable oil and the pan spray. That doesn't even look healthy. I did not hear the word organic once in this video. No wonder cancer rates are so high.
