Take your square put it on the table and set it fore or aft of the guide so you can slide it back in line with the blade. Use your eye to see parallel and adjust. That is more accurate than your attempted measurement. Especially when viewing your white garage door behind the gap.

Man, correct me if I'm wrong. The knob on top is indeed for tensioning the blade which means it lowers or rises the upper wheel. The knob in the center is for moving the upper wheel back and forth in order to calibrate the blade on the center of the tire.

Besides the speed square and screwdriver, were there any other tools you needed that weren't included? Also, how long did it take from start to finish?
@berlinbuilds4 жыл бұрын
It took about an hour from start to finish to get it all set up. The only other tools I used besides those you mentioned were the clamps to hold the saw down temporarily and a knife to open up the box 👍 This one was a really easy set up.

5:54 is that not a tension quick release? Pretty sure that is what the picture on the side of the machine is telling you about. When not in use do not keep the blade under tension.

Imo the blade doesnt get tight enough on this saw. The blade can twist because of this. I own this saw and i think its junk really but i dont have space for a larger saw
@berlinbuilds3 жыл бұрын
I see what you’re saying. I think this saw is a good starter saw to get people into doing projects and having fun, but definitely not a “professional” saw that you would see at a cabinet shop.

@Mark-yb1sp3 жыл бұрын
Nick, can you share what to do to set the blade with the bearings? When I push the wood through the blade, the blade moves back and touches a metal wheel. I’ve seen sparks! Your thoughts?
@berlinbuilds3 жыл бұрын
It may be that your blade tension is too loose. Have you tried tightening it?
@Mark-yb1sp3 жыл бұрын
@@berlinbuilds Yes, but it won’t tighten anymore than what the knob will turn.

@jasno4833 жыл бұрын
And by the way how do you like that saw? I've had mine now for about 2 years I've used it a half dozen times and it does nothing but blade walk. I've tried everything. I've been woodworking for a long time I do know how to operate a bandsaw on adjust it but this one is good for cutting pine stakes, just like in your video lol. I was just curious what your experience was being able to hold a line or close to on hardwoods.
@berlinbuilds3 жыл бұрын
It's been pretty good for me. In hardwoods I've noticed it walking if I'm trying to go fast, but it's been pretty good when I take it slow. Cutting relief cuts has helped a lot with that too. I consider this one more of a craft saw, one for little projects that don't put a lot of load on the saw. It doesn't have as much power as bigger ones as I'm sure you know. Definitely not the best one on the market, but something to get by with for a lot of little projects. That's just been my experience so far.
@joycees4 жыл бұрын
I want to make a bunch of Adirondack chairs do you think this can handle the job?
@berlinbuilds4 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if this one would hold up to a bunch of them. The power seems to be good for smaller projects but I don’t know if it would be the best for busting out a bunch of those chairs.
@robertnavarrete30443 жыл бұрын
you don't need bandsaw, you should have MITER SAW, SMALL TABLE SAW& MAYBE A JIGSAW if you want to round up the back and arm rests.

YOU DIDN'T USE PUSH STICKS!!! jk just teasing. Great overview, I have this bandsaw myself and found it pretty easy to set up (except getting that dagum blade to rest right). I especially appreciate your hand motions for direction demonstrations. And yeah nope directions I got were not very clear, i might go back and re-calibrate mine like you did
@berlinbuilds4 жыл бұрын
Haha, you caught me! Do you mostly use your bandsaw for your knife handles? Hand directions are the only way to go amigo!
@robbiethebladesmith4 жыл бұрын
@@berlinbuilds yeah I use the bandsaw to get things closeish, then dial it in with my grinders. I don't do any real precision cutting with the bandsaw, just to get things close to shape to save on belt wear

I have one of these and I have to say that the instructions for blade tensioning are naff. ie, when you pluck it it should make a note. Well, that is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle. From the slackest position to the tightest it will create a note.
@berlinbuilds Жыл бұрын
Love the ashtray analogy! Yeah I wasn’t totally sure how else to describe that one. Make your note sound like mine I guess.
@tassie7325 Жыл бұрын
@@berlinbuilds I wasn't having a knock at you. I was having a go at Ryobi's stupid way of describing how to get the correct tension. There are 88 keys on a piano, each of them producing a note. Ego, the tensioning method is so broad a field it is meaningless
