EASY Saltwater Fishing For Beginners - Fishing Docks With Shrimp!

  Рет қаралды 50,143

Realistic Fishing

Realistic Fishing

Күн бұрын

This is easy saltwater fishing for beginners and today we are fishing docks with shrimp. I catch a sheepshead, a strange ray with no tail, a crab, and a few other small fish. All of them were caught on frozen shrimp that I bought for a few dollars. All of them were caught on cheap fishing combos that cost less than $40. If a saltwater noob like me can catch saltwater fish, so can you. If you get a chance to fish near some docks, a little bit of shrimp might be all you need to catch some great fish.

Hah, same. It's a mile walk to my favorite spot out to an old railroad truss. It's the only public access on the lake (other than the swimming beach).

Thanks for more no BS fishing. Hate to be one of those "you should" guys, but...if you get one of those micro burners to screw onto a little butane/propane mix tank you can pack it with you on trips like this with a cheap little frying pan and enjoy surprises like that sheeepshead right on the dock. Better fish meals than most restaurants ever provide, as long as you have a little butter, salt and pepper. Thanks again!

Sheephead are tasty. Gnarly as hell teeth, but so good! Allow me to add that it's SO nice to come here and simply see and hear about simple fishing. A LOT of the other fishing channels are making videos focused on the GS guys and their drama with Favorite Rods and their alleged troubles with 6th Sense blah blah blah. Thank you for keeping it realistic!

I've heard some people cut off a ray's barb before releasing it so they don't get barbed...but that's not entirely necessary as long as you're just more careful about handling them. How you handled it with the net seemed to work just fine.

That sheep's head looked like it had a few nasty teeth. I have never heard of a tailless ray I'M guessing it was either attacked by another ray when it was young or by a predator It was the first one i have ever seen but I'M no expert on rays or salt water fish either. LOL Thanks for taking the time to watch the great fishing video while your down on the coast. Hope your having some nice weather. Have a great time down there!!!

late in the season on Cape Cod out at Bishops & Clerks we would catch sheepheads. They're like over sized porgy, pretty big size ( 1 1/2 to 3 lbs) and a lot of fun to catch. I never really ate one but they're supposed to be fairly good eating. What's really good is sea robin tails. The tail is the only edible part but when done right they taste similar to crab or shrimp. Most folks throw them away like junk fish but if you get a bunch of them filleting the tails is worth it. By the way great video, thanks.

The ray looked like some type of skate. They have the same little spines on their back and tail. The ones I've caught have had a longer tail, around 4-6 inches, but nothing like a stingray. Perfectly safe to handle.

I think that ray did have its tail cut off. Ive caught at least 100 of them in the last year and never have i seen any ray without a tail, even when researching the different kinds. Id guess someone who caught it panicked and cut off the whole tail to be sure it didnt get them while they take it off the line. When theyre flipped over the barb can be broken off at the tip which i hear is like cutting our fingernails for them and it grows back soon and it also shouldnt be able to flex towards you when its upside down but it can flip itself back over fast with that powerful tail. Also some people use rays as shark bait so it could have been someone harvesting the tail as a neat piece of bait because of how dense it is
