@countrygal36883 ай бұрын
After she pressed the border all around, she said to cut the inner fabric just a little bit smaller, so it would fit inside the outer fabric, creased edge to edge. The blanket measured 36 inches square after the edges were pressed. So the inner fabric would be about 35 inches square.

Serms much easier than the original Magic Turn Blankets I've been making for years. It would be helpful if you could note exact sizes of both fabrics. You could add that information in a description box, or just edit it snd add that information on the scree . You did a wonderful job on your first video. I look forward to seeing ma y more of them!

I am a beginner . Haven’t sewn anything except some lines of stitches. I want to make baby gifts for my sister and I don’t want to end up with any problem that will stop me I will be using cotton and flannel also So my question is did u prewash your fabric. Many people say we should someone told me I shouldn’t until i am done with project. What would you recommend? Please answer
@kathytincler24464 жыл бұрын
I am a newbie also. I plan to make mine all flannel & according to a vid I just watched earlier today for flannel baby blankets is it's best not to wash 1st as it would make the flannel look kind of used...you know take away that 1st crisp blush so to speak of new material & I agree with this.

wondering if you have the exact measurements. you say the larger piece is 45 inches and the smaller is "smaller"? how much smaller? mine came out great but I noticed a little bulk. anyone have any good measurements?

I would like to know also as I'm new to sewing & guessing would be frustrating & a waste of material. Thank you :)
@countrygal36883 ай бұрын
Since she measured the blanket after the edges were folded in and pressed, and it measured 36 inches square, the smaller inner fabric would cut at 35 or 35 1/2 inches square. Hope this helps.

@kathytincler24464 жыл бұрын
I was wondering too....that open look could get baby's foot caught up in it or snag on something. It appears she only answers the Spanish speaking
@jeanieyarbrough91483 жыл бұрын
@@kathytincler2446 just now watching this video, and really there is no reason why you should not secure the corners, just do a straight stitch , it is what I will do because like you I do not want it to get caught on babies foot or something else and rip or aggravate the baby. Perhaps she just forgot that part? I am sure these videos are more than one take and sometimes with editing they cut out an important part without realizing it. I don't think answering the "spanish speaking" is intentional. kind regards.

Love this baby blanket but she never disclosed the measurement for the inside fabric. Looks like she cut the inside fabric to fit the bottom crease. That's where I cut and it seemed to go well.
