Tip...start with the dip cookies so while they are in the fridge hardening you can work on the other cookies!

I use an all natural, no sugar added fruit spread, like Polaner All-Fruit. I have found that the regular jams and jellies tend to turn into "gummy" candy. This is my favorite cookie and I have experimented adding numerous items to the cookie dough including dried, exotic fruits and using fruit juices instead of water in the icing. There are so many things you can do with this basic recipe. I hope this helps anyone who wants to experiment on their own. Happy baking.

Mmmm, these are amazing! For the raspberry thumbprint cookies I made an orange flavored glaze by combining the powder sugar with orange juice rather than water...gives the cookie a nice zing of extra flavor. Happy Holidays!

I use almond extract in the icing. It adds a very nice addition to the raspberry jam. These cookies are always a huge hit at the holidays. My family and friends love them. There are never any left. Thank you for sharing! Merry Christmas =)

Love this. I wont make the last variation with hazelnuts but walnuts instead. Hazelnuts i do not care for but I love walnuts. Im making 8-9 goodie boxes for gifts this year and i am having a hard time physically and these cookies will replace cutting out 6 dozen cookies. I especially love the raspberry thumbprints. @@Jojorocks23 Solo is a brand name ,and it fruit filling that is ready to go in cookies and other goodies. It is less sweet than using jelly and jams and it holds its shape better. It is found in the baking section at the grocery stores. I do not know if it is sold all over the country. I live in Illinois so all the big chains carry it.

@@marialoureiro455 aww thank you so much for your advice and kind words. It's been said that God works in mysterious ways. Been going through depression and don't have no one to talk to. Someone did start a Go-fund-me almost 2 year's ago for a cat that really needed surgery and I couldn't retrieve the funds. It was only $15 because the rest of the people was donating at the Vet's office. Unfortunately the cat died. It was an agressive surgery. Truthfully, I think the Vet should've euthanized her instead of having her go through that. I'm guessing since he knew the money was being donated, he wanted to get more money. I can post it on my Facebook page to those that post on the Pet People part. I did ssk lat year for cat food and litter. I'm on disability. I can no longer work and all my money goes towards all my bills. I buy a 28 lb bag each week plus 2 litter boxes once a week. I don't like to feed the outside cat's chesp brand which I should, but they end up vomiting it all up. May God bless you and your family this Thanksgiving Day. I have sn old phone I'm using that I cannot put emoji's, lol. It would be nice if we could message privately, but I don't know how to private message through KZbin. We grew up on the jam filled thumb print cookies but the recipe we used made the cookies way to delicate, I use a recipe now very similar to yours, I find them much lighter and easier to digest, and they just melt in your mouth, I will have to try the hazelnut dipped one...

Those butter cookies that you made are delicious. They are traditional where I am from. We call it, ghraybeh. We do it in the S shape. I made it for Christmas this year too, instead of jam I added green and red m&ms😊

I make those thumbprint cookies all the time! I use strawberry jam. I make the powdered sugar cookies as well! But I don’t roll them in sugar. I sift powdered sugar on top.
