EASY Skeleton/Zombie XP Farm in Minecraft 1.21

Common issues: 1) Can't place Kelp on Soul sand? Swap the soul sand for dirt and place the kelp to the top (or Bone meal). Then remove the kelp and replace the dirt back to Soul sand. 2) The XP switch doesn't work? This doesn't work on Bedrock, Redstone is slightly different - I'll be making an updated tutorial very soon that works on both 3) Mobs dying on their own? This is entity cramming on Java, you can have max 25 mobs in the kill chamber before they start to die - I'd recommend killing every 5 ish mins.

For more efficiency: make the space below the spawner 6 blocks high. This clears the first wave of mobs from the spawnable area and triggers a new pack to spawn sooner. In the current setup you need to wait until the mobs bob down the water flows before the new pack can spawn. A second thing you can add is an air block behind the bubble column at the second block up/eyeheight, on the other side of where the mobs enter from. This creates a waterflow, sucking the mobs into the bubble column. (If dealing with zombies, you can add a hole behind that with a sign and a lava source beneath. This would kill any baby zombies that manage to get themselves through the hole instead of up into the bubble column.) Great visual explanation! ❤ Thx Gorillo

@@TV-ef5me Where the mobs enter the bubble column, two blocks above soul sand, break out the block ahead of you (as you enter that bubble column. It will make it so there is a "pull" so the mobs enter the column more easily.

instead of the xp switch you could try putting a dog in a minecart and letting it kill the skeletons because it will be automatic yet give xp

But then it will be hard to kill the skeletons with a looting 3 sword, the sweeping edge might kill the dog...

@@TVCorpRPG you can always drop the dog minecart through some water and have a soul sand block at the bottom that pushes him back up so no chance of sweeping edge death

sweeping edge isn't a problem for bedrock - but a fix for java would be just use an axe or something lol - as for looting, how often do you want more stacks of bones and trash than the farm produces on its own anyways@@TVCorpRPG

Is there a way to have the dog kill skeletons without them being shot? I can't seem to find an easy solution as anytime the wolf can see the skeleton, it will start firing it's bow

@@BearBerrycloth Yep, just lock the skeletons top part with a block and put the dog under it, it will get hit by thorns if a skeleton spawns with a thorns armor though.

Redstone for Bedrock/Pocket Edition: Next to the target block (white & red one), on top of the piston, place redstone dust on it. This is due to quasi-connectivity not existing in Bedrock Edition.

So when I put the redstone on top it did the if it time-lapse for a hot second and then it turned off so then I broke the Redstone on the back of the piston estate out am I supposed to keep that on or do I just let it flicker like that

Can confirm this works on 1.21 Java SMP servers. Thank you! The one alteration I did was change the entire structure material into Tinted Glass so I could see the it all in action. The XP gains seem glitched though, if you let too many build up you may not get any XP at all upon killing them all. I do every 20-30 now instead of 50+

KELP ISSUE FIXED, place dirt on bottom instead of soul sand, place kelp all the way up, swim back down, replace dirt with soul sand, fly back up and continue !

Instead of making them go up high to drop, use a stalagtite to increase fall damage, you would need 11 blocks fall to leave them on a tiny bit of hp.

I would suggest building a area for a stone grinder for enchanted items for extra xp and a lava cactus or fire trash bin for the bows

There is still room for improvement! 1: Increase elevator by 2 blocks. 2: At the top of the skeleton drop hole, add a powder snow block and a spider web below. This way you will only have Strays in your farm = stacks of arrows of slowness if you kill them yourself. (I use this possibily on my bedrock account.)

This farm works GREAT on Java, but on Bedrock the mob dropper insta kills Zombies. I tried to put it up one more block but that makes them 3 hit without a sword. I'd prefer 1 hit, but I guess I will move it back up a block and use a sword. It's a great farm either way :)

I had a skeleton spawner in one of my world that was just less then 30 blocks away from spawn where i build my stuff and just around at layer 60, It was literally so easy mode with that i got bored from that world after a while ((( and began a new, I guess farms like this, although is nice, for some reason they make me feel wierd... same as iron farms...

Add an air pocket at eyeheight behind the water column (other side of where they enter from). This creates a water flow, sucking the mobs into the bubbles.
