I used to buy these from "Whole Foods" in the deli section. A pint cost about $8-$10 or so? Now that I see I can make my own, I will.

Did you let the mixture sit to room temp. before pouring it in the jar or you just put it directly?
@yummyfoodathome93972 жыл бұрын
Put directly and seal will creat vacuum and you can preserve it for longer. If is for immediate consumption let it come to room temperature and then place in the jar. When I do it for presents when visiting friends and family definitely close immediately to seal, looks professional too. Add you personalised label with date of production 😀. It does make very good unique presents

@@yummyfoodathome9397 how long can this last ? And once opened does it need to be refrigerated Or after I pour in the hot mixture and seal it can I put it on the shelf and for how long
@artefinite2 жыл бұрын
@@Smorgellep I have heard that quick pickled garlic is not shelf stable and must be refrigerated before you even open it so that it won't get botulism

its okey if you put sugar?
@yummyfoodathome93973 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s ok to put sugar. And also if the flavour is to strong for you can dilute the vinegar 1:1

Only 3 days in the fridge ? 😕😕😕
@yummyfoodathome93972 жыл бұрын
It can last at least 10 days in fridge, if lasts because once you try it you can’t stop eating it. It’s strong flavour if you prefer mild flavour dilute with water the marinate 50/50 during preparation 😀

You bring the vinegar mixture to a boil for 5 minutes, then carefully add it to the jar filled with garlic.

Please advised, I used the recipe without spices but my garlic turned green on second day.
@jenna1456456783 жыл бұрын
I believe it turns green due to a chemical reaction with the acid and copper compound in the garlic. But if u blanche it the green might go away when you pickle it
