Hi Lisa! Where do you buy your sesame seeds? I'm sure the bulk bins at Whole Foods have them, but I've noticed that the nuts and seeds I get from there are sometimes already rancid.

@@Downshiftology do we need to add salt to it?
@meilovesmac4 жыл бұрын
You could add sesame oil instead of olive oil for a true taste of tahini. Also put some tbs of this tahini in a bowl, add honey, (to taste) and some water (little by little) and you just whisk it. You will have a creamy, healthy ans tasty spread. Just dont put it in the fridge because it will harden up. I love tahini and hummus! Glad I found you

I got my Vitamix A3500 on Saturday!!! I wasn't planning on buying it but I walked into William Sonoma and there was it. She was staring at me whispering buy me, so I did. I made cashew milk. Now on to the tahini sauce and then I will make hummus in the same container as you all suggested.

I've made tahini various times and i can categorically say there is NO WAY you can add such a small amount of oil to so much sesame seed paste and have it so liquid as it is at the end of the video. It's just not possible. And by the way unless you've got a very light mild olive oil it's best to use some other vegetable oil. Olive oil can have a rather strong flavour for tahini

The one in the video is a Weck Jar, and the Jar with the clasp on it is a Le Parfait Jar both are available on Amazon. I prefer le Parfait jars for condiments i use often. And weck jars for temp food storage bc the clips and seals on the weck jars get kind of annoying... that being said... you can microwave a weck jar without the seal and metal clips... but the le Parfait you cannot remove the metal clasp around the jar. Just FYI i enjoy them both but there was some learning associated with the transition.... but they both look wonderful in my lunchbox and kitchen.
