Thanks for the inspiration, our family is turkey (I broke the rules and cut it up to cook it took 1 3/4 hours for a 22lb turkey) never doing it the other way again. Gravy, mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, stuffed mushrooms, brussel sprouts, sausage stuffing, sweet potatoe casserole with the marshmallows, cranberry compote, and pumpkin pie and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I got tons of grief for the turkey cut up.till they ate it and I was told.in no uncertain terms that I must do it that way from now on the all night simmered carcass makes the richest gravy ever.

Hi Mel! I'm having Thanksgiving dinner at my house and I'm always looking for time saving but yummy recipes. These are perfect!! The one dish macaroni and cheese looks so good and easy too. Mac and cheese is one of my favorite side dishes. I'm with you on the side dishes. I'd happily make a meal off of just those. I love going to pot luck get togethers. It's so fun to try all of the different side dishes people bring. I've got to make the marshmallow pumpkin pie. I'm going to visit my sister on Christmas day and always bring several dishes. The pie would be perfect for desert. I've never made baked apples but they have all the things I like so I definitely will try them for myself one day soon for a treat. If you microwave the bacon pieces in the microwave. Put on a paper towel on a paper plate for about 20 seconds,it crisps them up, eliminating the fatty bits.

This is what my Dad did for Mom- he took an 8” piece of aluminum pipe, sharpened one edge of the pipe with a file, and made the perfect apple corer. You can push out the cores with the handle of a wooden spoon. Mom has used it for years!

All of your recipes here sound wonderful. I love how y'all say if it's a keeper . I try new recipes for my family. I asked if it was a keeper or a non keeper. My family will always let me know. I can't wait to try your macaroni and cheese recipe . You can cook your macaroni raw instead of cooking it beforehand before you mix it up. It is hard to cut the core of the Apple out. What if you used an apple corer utensil and then cut them in half. Would it still work?
