I volunteer at the open door mission. Contrary to most peoples beliefs. We do not scimp on anthing. Some people are at a hard place in there lives but that doesnt mean they dont deserve a great turkey dinner. I make the homemade pies and the herb seasoned dressing. My african american friends do the ham.

All of these look amazing. Love the twists on banana pudding and will have to try one. My tip for folks is, if you are making cornbread for dressing, put some of your poultry seasoning in the cornbread batter and then bake it. This just infuses it with all the herbs you love in a good dressing from the start, then you can always add more if needed while making the dressing.

My wife just discovered your channel and we are both addicted We are both handicapped and appreciate your simple recipes. She also made the eclair cake many years ago for a medieval feast she catered. She used a butterscotch.instead of chocolate since it wasn't discovered much later in time (19th and later). Happy Holidays to you and your family from the Florida Brunner family.

You can use vanilla oreo's in the banana pudding too, they make the thin ones they are good. When we make the cheesy potato casserole I learned if you mix everything and then had cheese and potatoes it mixes easier.

Hi Mel! Oh my, these recipes look amazing!! You're making it hard for me to choose what new sides to make for the holidays. Lol! I told my sister about the marshmallow pumpkin pie you showed last week and she's excited for me to make it and bring when I visit her on Christmas day. I'm excited too. And I'm going to try the mac and cheese you made last week for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. But now I want to try all of these too. Decisions, decisions. Granny's cornbread dressing sounds and looks delicious. I love cornbread in any form. I've never made dressing on a cookie sheet. Love that idea and will be trying it that way. Thank you so much, Mel, for these recipes that are so helpful when wanting to try something new that everyone will love. And as always, thank you for all of the hard work you do to bring these recipes to us. I hope you and your family have a beautiful and blessed week. ❤🙏❤

@InTheKitchenWithMommaMel Mel, I make my cranberry sauce too, and I do use orange juice instead of water. It makes it so good. 😊 I buy 2 bags and freeze mine so they keep until I need them. For the second bag I prepare exactly like you did and let it completely cool. Then I add a regular size can of well drained mandarin orange segments, pineapple tidbits well drained, chopped pecans, mini marshmallows, and flaked coconut. That's my cranberry salad. 😋 It is a favorite. Mel, thanks for the video. I always love your videos. Your momma and daddy are so sweet. Loved the prayer. I never seen the dressing made on a cookie sheet before so now I have to try it! Lol! Thank your momma for me! 🥰 An old friend of mine always made dressing balls. I had never heard of them either. 😊 Our family makes pineapple casserole for every occasion, lol! 😁 It is always requested. Have a beautiful blessed night! I make my grandma's cornbread dressing and it doesn't have anything but cornbread. I bake it with chopped up onion and celery and sage seasoning in it. I make it the day before and then crumble it, add more sage to taste, salt, pepper 4 parts turkey broth, straight from the turkey, and 1 part whole milk. Mix it and put it in a large sheet pan and bake at 400 degrees for about 40 minutes. Absolutely the best!! Your grandma's is almost the same recipe.

I entered a Copy Cat Recipe for the Honey Baked Ham in a Taste of Home Contest and it was printed as a runner up recipe. It is a very similar recipe as what you used but my spices in the sugar is a little different. My recipe for the spice recipe is usually enough for 2 Hams so I save part of it for next time. I use a Spiral ham and cook it in the crockpot. I then torch the sugar and spice mixture. My recipe got 5 stars from the people who made it. I baked one yesterday as we made it for a family dinner yesterday. Your recipes all sound delicious.

I'm sure vanilla wafers would taste great, you just wouldn't be able to slice it up in layered pieces. And I don't taste cottage cheese in the cornbread, it really just gives it the right texture.

I have taken the Éclair Cake Recipe and made a variation that we make at Christmas. It is a Chocolate Mint Version. It just takes a few substations. You substitute Chocolate Grahams for the grahams. For the pudding you use White Chocolate Pudding and it you add 3 drops of green food coloring and 1/2 tsp of peppermint extract. The rest of the recipe is the same as what is called for in the original recipe. We love the original recipe and have been making that since the 70s, but we like this version just as much. It tastes like a peppermint patty if you use the dark chocolate frosting.
