I am loving your enthusiasm and advice. I have this year fallen back in love with my garden and have enjoyed your videos so much. I can't wait for the spring now after I have finished all my autumn jobs. You inspire me so much. After clearing a border that had been somewhat left to it's own devices I have noticed tons of cyclamen coming up and I have no idea where they came from , I have dug out a small part of my grass (not big enough to be called a lawn) to make a new bed and I am looking forward to filling it. I have had 3 wooden boxes this year filled with troughs of annuals and they have looked beautiful all summer and I have already started filling autumn/winter troughs to replace them. Thank you again for inspiring me to have a beautiful space and becoming my very own Mad Gardener. xxxx❤❤❤

These seeds can make little friendship gifts, stocking staffers etc. Some groups limit the amount you can spend on gifts so seed packets make it easy to have a nice gift without violating limits.

+Kathryn Mettelka you always have such great ideas and so creative! These would be cute wrapped with a little Christmas ribbon!

I save seeds and I love your simple idea of the paper towels. Much easier than what I’ve been doing for years!

Great video. I really like your method of how to store our seeds. I've never collected marigold seeds before. Now I know how, and will collect some tomorrow. I haven't bought zinnia seeds in years, they just come back on their own every year.

+Rosemary Purnell I love it when I can skip buying some seeds!

Great video Amanda 😊 do your seeds come back true to type? Sometimes it’s difficult trying to figure out what’s a hybrid and what’s not etc
@shesamadgardener2 жыл бұрын
+Cat Reeves typically yes but cross pollination can definitely change things up.

Great video!! So, a couple questions if you can help as I am still very new to gardening. #1- with my zinnia seeds zone 5b/6 would it be best to just sprinkle the seeds now or wait until spring? #2- with my spring bulbs if planting in pots should I do them now or wait until later in the winter months? Thank you so much for your advice and have a great weekend 😀

I also live in zone 5B and noticed bulbs planted in fall pots tend to rot due to all our rain and snow. You could try putting the pots in a covered area or near the house so they don’t get to much moisture.

@@mimi03231 thank you I appreciate any tips I can get! Have you started putting your bulbs in?
@mimi032312 жыл бұрын
@@michellefrance1165 yes I put some in the ground last week. I don’t do too many since most of our garden is shaded. Just a few for color. Good luck to you!

+Michelle France it looks like you got some great advice on the bulbs already! I will be planting my prechilled tulips and hyacinth as well as my alliums and daffodils at the end of November … some in pots and some in the ground. As for the zinnias … try throwing some in the garden now but hold back some to plant in the spring … that was you can experiment and see what happens!

I don’t even cut off the celosia blooms. I take a little tray and tap the mature flowers with the tray under them. Some stay on the flower but I let those drop and reseed.

Great video, thank you for sharing this. Have been waiting on seed saving video. I have a question, could you tell me why some of my zinnias don’t produce seed. My marigolds did awesome, plenty of seed. Great way to save them today, will be doing that for sure! Have a great day! 😊

+Regenia Moore *pronounced Regina hmm, the only thing I can think of is that they did not receive enough sun or they did not pollinate correctly.

Thank you! I’m just glad that it was helpful! You really didn’t need to mention me or put my name but I recognize where it came from and for that I am grateful ❤ but most importantly is that you get to save your pressures seeds so you have them for next year 😊 thats really all that matters. Looking forward to your next video 🙏

aren't there seeds in the center of the zinna in addition to the petals?
