I have yet to try hop dipping on the homebrew scale. I’ve had this same idea as you did in this video and now I know it’ll work. I might have to try this method on a commercial scale. I think I figured out how to do it too. Cheers 🍻

Totally! It adds a ton of juicy hop flavors and aromas! And if you really want to hop it up you can even also do a dry hop addition! Cheers 🍻

@@ElementaryBrewingCo thanks, definitely will do! Should I skip the whirlpool if I dip hop and dry hop you think? Cheers!
@ElementaryBrewingCo8 ай бұрын
@@GREEENZO you could still whirlpool or just take those whirlpool hops and add as a flameout addition instead and save a bit of time. Just depends on how hoppy you want it really. The last Cold ipa I made had a ton of hops in it and it turned out really good so I’d say try all of it 🤣

My attempt at Dip hopping in my conical didn't end well lol, I think I'll take this approach and dump them into the fermentor.

Interesting, I was discussing this video with Small Batch before I saw it and could wrap my head round what you where doing. I make a Hop Tea and add it to my Raw Ales in a similar fashion but I basically add mine as mash out due to not boiling. Nice video! Cheers!
@ElementaryBrewingCo8 ай бұрын
Nice! I feel like it adds a different layer than just a dry hop but I’d need to do a comparison to really be able to tell.

Did u pressure ferment? Did you use Voss Kveik? Great video

I used Imperial Yeast flagship at around 68F in the garage. I let it go for 2 days without pressure then added a spunding valve to start carbonating. Cheers 🍻

Как всегда отличный контент!Я несколько раз использовал кипяток для заваривания хмеля и тоже хорошо получалось.Обязательно использовать температуру воды 80С ?Хмель по идее раскисает в закрытом пространстве и ничего не улетает.

Brilliant!! Any benefit to using a small Muslim bag for this method ??
@ElementaryBrewingCo8 ай бұрын
I don’t think it would hurt, but I’d have to try it out to see. I think you’re supposed to get as much of the hops in the beer to ferment so as long as it doesn’t interfere with that I think you’d be good! Cheers 🍻

What about diphopping for 15min @ 75c then adding straight into the serving keg, purge the keg and pressure transfer the fermented beer to the serving keg? Does fermenting the diphopped liquor actually add ‘value’ ?
@ElementaryBrewingCo8 ай бұрын
That would be something to try for sure! I do think there is a benefit to having them in the fermenter during fermentation though. There’s probably some biotransformation that happens during fermentation. Cheers 🍻

Go Guardians! And does dip hopping replace dry hopping in a way? Or is it more of a whirlpool equivalent?
@ElementaryBrewingCo8 ай бұрын
Nice! I actually do root for the Gaurdians as well!!! I’ve been collecting Steven Kwan cards! That dude is an on base machine! I’ve been using it as a replacement for dry hopping, but that doesn’t mean you can’t dry hop and dip hop. You totally can! Cheers 🍻

Good stuff Brian, as usual 😉 Having the hops sitting on the yeast/trub for a week+ doesn't affect the beer or give it a bit of grassy/green off flavours?!
@ElementaryBrewingCo8 ай бұрын
Haven’t had any issues yet but that would be a good experiment! Just let them sit in the all rounder and not transfer to a keg for like a month!

Would you say this is good for any beer? Or just hop forward beers like IPAs?
@ElementaryBrewingCo6 ай бұрын
Just hop forward styles. If I’m drinking a light lager that’s supposed to be clean and crisp with very little hop flavor then yeah it wouldn’t be necessary. Cheers 🍻

So, basically the whirlpool hops, without the whirpool.
@ElementaryBrewingCo8 ай бұрын
Well, kind of, I’d have to do a side by side to know for sure but the difference is with dip hopping all the hop matter makes it into the fermenter. When whirlpooling I’ve always found that most of the hop matter stays behind in the kettle. So if you can get all those hops in the fermenter from whirlpool then yes it would be the same thing.
