Chicken Masak Lemak Cili Padi, You need shallots, onion, garlic, ginger, fresh or powder turmeric and green bird chillies and blend it all. Then fry the blend ingredients together with 1 stick of lemon grass, pour in lil bit of water, add the chicken and let it cook for 8mins. Open the lid and pour the coconut milk, salt, and lil bit of sugar. Very easy and more tasty. Modern Malay foods are quite easy because you just blend all the ingredients comparing to the traditional method of pounding using stones.

If you want fresh Turmeric then grow it yourself! I have a part of my garden that does not get a lot of sunlight yet Turmeric does really well and it tells you when to harvest it. The lovely green leaves die off and you can then harvest, split the bounty then start again. In the same area of my garden I have galangal and ginger. Cheers!

AYAM is chicken in Indonesia :D imo Indonesian curry is the best, the taste is not overpowering like Indian or Japanese curry, and I think the key ingredients are turmeric, ginger and coconut milk, dunno about the rest but it tastes really good. It also has that fried shallots topping sometimes 6:02

Impressive. Thanks for your cooking video. What was the last crispy things you put on over basil leaves?

This is the simplest version of Ayam Masak Lemak that I've ever seen and I'm gonna try it! Though I would add at least one or two sticks of lemongrass for better taste and aroma and a couple of bird-eye chillies in the sauce for some kick. :)

You save yourself 3.00 when you remove the bones yourself with all chicken. With people moving more towards thighs it adds up. Great tasting recipe thank you!

i love that you used fresh ginger and turmeric. i don't like the powdered turmeric in recipes or tea

nice video! but sadly coconut milk is overcooked in this video. you can see the layer is seperated. stir constantly using packed coconut milk

You’re a pretty, slick gal. You removed the bones before you removed the meat from the package? Uh..huh. Very effecient.

It's green sweetie. Although I'm sure it tastes fab. Not sure about the lime juice at the end.

Lol the coconut cream is splitting making it look like a curd. Rather than incorporating it into a creamy sauce. Fail at asian food there! 😂😂
