My daughter has wavy 〰️ curly hair and I have complete straight and I had to learn how to take care of her hair and have been teaching her how to do her own (she's 9 now) we watched this together (I'm always looking at different ways to help promote her own curls) and she just loved this little beauty's hair ♥️ and yes we came here because of the washing video lol

🙋🏼‍♀️ I have blonde straight hair and my daughter has lose curley blonde hair. The biggest challenge to doing my daughter's hair is the fact that it is waist length and very thick. I was so curious. I knew that black hair needs attention to moisture, but I never knew step by step the process of wash and style.

This just shows us how important diversity is to society, the fact that we've got white mamas doing black hair. We need to normalize every race being able to do different hair textures and styles and foster kids being able to remember their adoptive moms doing their hair no matter how genetically different they are ❤️

100% correct! Majority of us remember moms being "too rough" or in general we as kids didn't like it - but it's beautiful memory to have and laugh about when you're older. (I'm talking about moms who didn't know what they were doing but they tried their best and as an adult you can understand it from that perspective)

The joy you take in the care of your daughter’s hair is EVERYTHING. It’s that unspoken affirmation of I enjoy doing your hair and its not a chore that is gonna leave a lasting impression. Growing up “hair day” always felt like a chore more so than an enjoyable experience, definitely trying to break that mindset when doing my own daughter’s hair.

I have never had to work with black hair as I’m not a hair dresser. But my best friend growing up was adopted (her and her brother) and her parents where white with multiple white children. Her mom worked as a foster care worker and just fell in love with her and her sad story of when she was a baby. She took so many different hairstyle classes to learn to work with her hair and went to different hair stylists to learn on her own as well as having professionals do her hair. I absolutely love how you teach others and help others specially foster mamas who are doing something so beautiful but may not know all about the care and maintenance of a black womens beautiful hair. I can wash mine and toss it in a messy bun and go and be fine and my friend always said I could never do that and it actually taught me to ask my mom at a young age why my friends hair was different and she explained to me and my moms best friend was a hair dresser and she helped me understand the different hair types and I found a whole new appreciation for it all. Your an inspiration lady for women and foster/adoptive mamas. I hope you and the kids are all doing well and staying safe and healthy. I know it’s a trying time in the world. Blessings and prayers to you all! Xox-Delia

Great job!! You’re becoming a pro at black hair. Love it!! My hair doesn’t like coconut oil, just Jamaican black castor, olive oil ,and avocado oil. Sometimes I mix all of them together and add some essentials oils. Her hair is gorgeous and healthy!!!! She will definitely grow up loving her hair because of the interest, and time you put into her hair.

She is going to grow up feeling so happy that you cared about her hair...which is a big part of who we are. I’ve seen some criticism and obnoxious comments but people just always have something to say. I hope you ignore them! I am 100% sure you are helping a lot of adoptive moms to African American kids who don’t have a clue about hair care, but want to learn.

As I was watching tears came to my eyes. I was adopted and my adopted mom was white. She didn’t care about my hair and how I wanted to grow it out and style it. She said I had to do it myself but I was to young. So she would take me to the hair salon to get it shaved off. I was bullied for having short hair. By doing your daughters hair it is showing your unconditional love, building trust and creating beautiful memories. Blessings ✨

I just happened on your channel. I am a retired social worker in child protection and know the struggles of foster parents as they try to care for children of color in regards to hair and skin care. Kudos to you sweetie! Your daughters hair is simply beautiful and so healthy! You get how important hair is the little girls of color and doing all that you can to keep her self esteem up where it needs to be. Thank you again for your efforts in assisting other FP/adoptive parents in the importance of proper grooming. 🤗
