My 12-year-old grandson and I are really enjoying Robin in the Rain. He's already mastered all of your jazzy additions, while I'm still working on them. How about another jazz kid's great, It's You I Like, by Mr. Rogers. I played it at an open mic once and it brought tears to people's eyes who remembered it from their childhood.

The melody is very similar to "If I Had You." Love the riff with that bump bump feeling.

I LOVE this song! I remember learning it in school in Grade 1 from Mr Landry (who was a music specialist that came in to teach us--he looked like Burle Ives and would start us off with his pitch pipe!).....I had forgotten some of the words so this is fabulous! Thank you so much! Such a great memory and now I can share it with others! Love your teaching!

I loved this lesson and the song is stuck in my head! Brilliant! I wonder if you would consider a lesson on Sweet Pea by Amos Lee? chord progression is nice.

Another great tune. Very cool. Really appreciate the chord substitutions and extra chord riffs you demonstrate. It’s not fully a jazz tune, but could you do a lesson on stray cat strut? 🐈⬛ Or maybe a jazzy version of ‘street of dreams’? 😃

Thanks for watching and for your feedback Mary. I've thought abut Stray Cat STrut for a while now...I'm not familiar with Street of Dreams...I'll check it out. Wishing you well 😊

Love this, sooo much fun! I would like to know what are the names of the C chords when you go up to A7 in the 3rd row (Running in the garden on your nimble feet).

Hey Stu - I've always wondered, are you an actual practitioner of (Zen) Buddhism? I noticed a Thich Nhat Hanh calligraphy in one of your older videos. Thanks for your hard work!
@UkuleleZen Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, playing along and for your message. Yes, I am a dedicated practitioner of Thây's teachings (open to all paths of course). Just finsihed some sitting and walking as a matter of fact ;-) Are you also a practicioner? I've wanted to teach a few sonngs from Plum Village here on the channel. Wishing you a wonderful day, Stu
@merovekh Жыл бұрын
@@UkuleleZen Thank you for your reply! How wonderful - your practice of Thây's message always comes through in the serenity and calm you bring when you teach. It is also apparent in your choice of songs - very wholesome! I aim to be a practitioner, but lack a formal Sangha. As such I am only on the very beginning of the path (and have been for a few years). Thanks again! Plum Village songs would be great (sincerely), but probably not the biggest hits for KZbin clicks & engagement. ;)

Can you please offer chord alternatives for Bm7 as l can’t hold bar due to arthritis. Thanks.
@UkuleleZen Жыл бұрын
Sure - TWO options: 1. use all four fingers to play Bm7 (which can feel a bit cramped unless you angle the fingers) 2. Skip it all together -- play G or G6 during that bar and then go right to Am7. Thanks for watching -- please click subscrobe for more helpful videos like this one :)
