I take mine off smoker at 130. That way no dry and if need be it will finish cooking when frying.

That's a good plan if you always cook again. I finish them off as we like to chop them up and put them straight into cold salads. You are probably correct that they won't have as much grease to cook in though. Nice added advice!

Sorry Joseph, I don't know exactly. I use my Cabela's points to get the mix for free due to the convenience and I don't know exactly what they do. I may try to make my own at some point in the future.

Had no idea you could make venison bacon!! I just made a venison bolanaies sauce for a lasagna using sam the cooking guys recipe from KZbin and it was amazing!!!

Just subscribed and fascinating - I first saw your newly constructed pantry What state are you in that you have deer season now? I am not able to digest many farm grown animals (can eat chickens) So, that looks great for a meal, oh, and bacon bits :-)
