Great video! The idea for the execution was amazing and really unique in comparison to the traditional ways. I have a little advice tho Instead of using a single frame for the uv and texture, you can use the uv project modifier. Just use the modifier on the plane and set the target object as the camera. And for the textures, instead of using a single image, use an image sequence (u can do that by pressing A when selecting the images). And u don't need to create a new material and lighting setup to blend in the mesh with the footage. Just go to the shader editor and plug the image texture directly into the output node( without the principled shader in between) and it will blend perfectly with the footage. Try all this and see how much effort will be reduced:)

Hey! First of all thanks :) Regarding the shader you are wrong, in that way you get a shadeless result, which is really unrealistic. I tried that but the result was really cartoonish. Shapes of objects in real life are determined by lights and shadow, that's why you need the shader. Instead, regarding the UV project modifier, I tried it but it doesnt let me set the right offset otherwise I get the purple texture bug. Cant really explain that. Can we discuss about this somewhere in private? Im really curious

@@RaffoVFX ah yes I didn't realise that the shape of the object will be modified, I am not sure about the uv modifier issue tho, you can contact me on discord if you want HashCarv#2349

@@raghavgupta1118 ok actually I did a lot of experiments yesterday and I managed to do as you say. But realized the following: For a beginners tutorial I would recommend using a single image as I showed in the video here. Since the image sequence texture or video texture introduce many problems, to which I already have solutions, but the most appropriate thing to do is to make an advanced tutorial about that. So that this tuto shows only the basic easy way for everybody. And the advanced one will be for who is ready to push further.

dunno if anyone gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the new series on Instaflixxer. I've been watching with my girlfriend for the last few days :)

I watched it all but never saw you go to color management and change view transform from filmic to standard. That might have made a lot of those shading tweaks unnecessary. Also, the two ground planes being at the same z location might have been why there was flashing in the final render (even though the mask layer was hidden for the render). A fix is often just to nudge one plane up or down so they aren't merged. Since it's a mask, I guess I'd lift it up a hair. But again, I gotta wonder if the color management switch would have done the trick.

Hi! that mesh was not going to be visible in the render, so I literally didnt care about the Z fight. About colors, adjustments are always needed, because of the shadows and lights influence regardless of the profile color used. In some public tutorials I suggest to use Standard profile intentionally, just to provide a ready result straight out of Blender especially for beginners that dont want to make post production / color correction in other softwares after render.
