I am thankful for the video! Couple of tips that tripped me up: make sure the brake disk on the opposite side of the bail is aligned in the notch correctly, or the bail arm won't lock for casting. I also found that putting the spring in place before putting the cap on was helpful. Thank you for putting this out there. All works fine!

You're welcome and thabks, Ernie. Glad you found it helpful. If that's an issue for you, you can secure any notched areas prior to assembly. Check out my other videos and spread the word.

A great video. Struggled with reassembly after buying parts to install. Not sure I could have done it exactly as it should have been without your video. These reals are a new breed that I'm just not familiar with. Thanks again, Bob

Excellent video!! Wish I had looked at it BEFORE I tackled the job! I just went over my brand new Battle II 5000 --- a little right-out-of- the box checkup -- greasing and oiling before using it. I managed to dope out the reassembly of the bail spring parts myself with some time-outs to restore patience. Thankfully, I took my time and avoided forcing or damaging anything, however, it was a process that took me over an hour -- just to study the pieces of the bail assembly and get it right. That said, I was pleased to find the factory had done a very decent job lubricating the reel generally.

Thanks! The Battle's are nice reels and I'm glad to hear you were able to figure it out. We've all been there. Your story made me chuckle. It reminded me of a similar experience I had recently. Somehow, I was all left thumbs and took forever on a reel I'm well acquainted with. Either my brain, the reel or both weren't cooperating that day. I was going to trash the video, but maybe I'll just post it. Please subscribe, if you haven't already done so, and spread the word. More vids to come.

@@TSGReelService You are very welcome! I did subscribe --- I got some other lessons in patience when building rods (surf, catfish & carp) - always leave plenty of time, and have the right tools at hand. I never made anything fancy, just put together very adequate rods that held up.
@TSGReelService4 жыл бұрын
That's all one needs... a rod that does the job. Thanks for subscribing! Next vid drops tomorrow.

Thanks so much! Very clear. I did have to first set the spring in place with the plate off, but still went well. I was probably not leaving suitable play between the plate and spring while attempting your instructions.
@TSGReelService2 жыл бұрын
You're welcome and thanks for watching! There's a few ways to do, so it's all good. I personally lay the trip arm and then spring in.... then cover and lock the cover down before putting the bail arm on. The method in this video gives you a little more room for error, that's all. Spread the word about the channel.

Can you please help? I have a penn fierce 3 which looks similar to your reel. I do everything you do, and it looks exactly the same, but when I try to put the bail back on, it doesn’t line up right. The bail angle isn’t right, it’s too high, and I can’t activate the spring. I’ve tried playing around and adjusting, but the only way it seems to fit snug is the way I described above. For context too, every part on the reel is factory, only replacement part is the bail spring. Any thoughts?
@TSGReelService Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Assuming you've purchased the correct replacement bail spring and are following along with the video, that's the way to do it. You can also follow along with this Penn Fierce III video kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYC4eGWpiruliNE to see how the process looks on your reel.
