I, generally, use a ratcheting, interchangeable regular-sized screwdriver for the initial loosening of screws. Here's a link to the brand I use:

Get some additional, varying sizes Flathead and Phillips bits while you're at it.
The adjustable wrenches I use (instead of hex nut wrenches) are Husky, but these (with the red insert) work very well... 6-inch will be used the most:

Great video! I’m having issues with the shims that goes in the main gear. Mine had 4 shims: 3 bronze and 1 silver. I put the four of them before the bearing, but when I screw the housing cover the reel becomes very tight and doesn’t rotate. You have any suggestion?

Thanks for watching!!! There are a few factors that can cause this tightness on reassembly, but the basic solution is..... play with the number of shims you put back in until you get the feel you want (this is assuming the reel was fine before you serviced it). You're not obligated to put a certain number back in..... just don't throw the extras away. Hope that helps. Spread the word about the channel.

At 19:20, what does the black plastic piece that interfaces with that dog do? Is this some sort of anti-reverse over-ride?

Thanks for watching! It holds the backup dog in the closed (disengaged) position. If the main dog fails, the reverse centrifugal force will force that black arm open, which engages the backup dog. Spread the word about the channel.

Great video sir! Luckily I found your channel and I subscribed ! I learn a lot how to clean and replace parts! But with this reel I ran in a little problem! When I put him back together it seems that the clicker(dog?) is touching the side of the inside spool and know you hear when you reel the sound of the clicker. There is nothing changed or replaced on this part!Can you give me a hint? Thanks in advance!

Doesn't oiling the anti reverse stop it's friction, was always under the impression that it's friction driven and oiling defeats it, yes/no ? Where did you get your bearing greaser do-hickey ?
