I needed to pit 20 cherries for a juice recipe. I used a knife. It was so miserable that I wasn't going to make that juice again UNTIL this video. Works like a charm.

It works, but it's extremely time consuming. I've tried several appliances as well as my grandma's tricks, and it all boils down to the same tedious task. Unless you've got yourself a very reliable cherry pitter, you're doomed to spend A LOT OF TIME pitting those cherries. However, believe me, it's worth it!

I know an easier way. Step1: put cherry in mouth and consume flesh. Step 2: spit out pit. Step 3: return to step 1 until all cherries are gone.

One problem could come up and that's when you have a double-pitted cherry, so you'd have to check it afterwards and that slows things down. I've tried different ways to pit cherries and really it's best just to do them by hand, you don't lose any of the cherry or juice and you can be sure you've got all the pits out.

How does the Hard Rock Cafe do it? When I ate the Hot Fudge Brownie which has a cherry on top, the cherry had no seed, and no other part removed, and it was very sweet.

Inochan91 I have no idea. It was that bright red sweet and juicy cherry that you usually see on top of whipped cream. I think you can even get them in jars in supermarkets. Search for Hard Rock Cafe Brownie on google images if you wanna see.

for me it worked for about only 1 in 10 cherries. the rest it just pushed a bunch of the cherry into the bottle along with the pit. it mutilated the cherries.

Like a fool, I picked up a huge sack of cherries without planning out how I was going to pit them. Like a smart guy, though, I took my dilemma to KZbin - and this video gave me the means to triumph. I used the end of a wooden ladle. That worked, as did an empty bottle of Jack Daniel's - and THAT taught me something I'd love to share. You can do this with a bottle of Jack Daniel's. The good part is that you'll need to buy some Jack Daniel's. The GREAT part is that you'll need to EMPTY the bottle because it's full of, well, Jack Daniel's! You might forget why you have a bowl of cherries and a chopstick on the counter, but life has its little trade-offs, you know? You're welcome!
