I appreciate how you just simply cut wood. Anyone can pick up a tape measure and figure it out

@@phoenix9999 If they can’t tell a 2x4 square is being used on top of a 1x4x6 base that looks to be 10” long, they shouldn’t be woodworking…. This project is great!

Hi. Thanks for the video. What’s the pray at the end? Ta!

We’re using lacquer here. You can get it pretty much anywhere (Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc... even Walmart)

wouldve been better had you told everyone what you was doing and what the measurements are and so on.. especially since you said this was for beginners

Nice! Would look great if you routed the base to give it a more refined look, but awesome idea 👍👍👍👍

This is a great little project for making something decorative. There are all kinds of possibilities for adding ones own details, like adding a profile to the base and/or the candle holders or insetting the candle holders, even varying the height of each holder. I like videos like this, i.e. no talking or music. They have their place. This is such a simple project that it doesn't need much else to support the video. There are plenty of real beginners out there that need a lot of handholding so I can understand their desire for more instruction but frankly, if you can't figure it out from such a simple video, then maybe woodworking is over your head. One observation: maybe not spray the clear coat with the bag of dog treats nearby. Lol

You can use water based clear coat or even shellac. I have a few videos on different styles if you wanna check it out

What size drill bit 1 1/2?
@Personalized_Workshop Жыл бұрын
Depends on the size of the candle you’re going to use. 1/16”-1/8” larger diameter bit than the diameter of the candle. Most flame votive candles in glass are 1-3/4, so I use a 1-7/8” Forstner bit. For the 1-7/16 battery operated no flame plastic candles I have, I used an 1-1/2” Forstner.

Great video! Does the spray protect the wood fire? Or do you have a suggestion on how to prevent it..
@truegrainwoodcrafts Жыл бұрын
No, the spray does not protect from fire. Just be safe and never leave them unattended. Thanks for the question ☺️
