What perfect timing, Noreen! I am getting sour dough starter from my neighbor tomorrow, so I will try this recipe. I do a lot of baking and even had my own home-baking business for years until a health crisis hit me in 2008. Your videos are always informative and entertaining. I'm a fan! I admire people who are self-sufficient and resourceful as you are.

Love your videos! I have 2 questions....can I use all-purpose flour instead of wheat (I don't have any) and do I have to put buttermilk powder in it or can I leave it out? Or can I use buttermilk?

These look so delicious! I would eat them as is with just a little extra butter. Sourdough is my favorite!

hi Noreen awesome video! I'm wondering if I cut the recipe in half and made 6 do they need to be pressed up against each other for the final rise in order for them to keep their shape? or would they still hold their bun shape not being pressed up against each other on a cookie sheet?

She's making ordinary sloppy joes regal. Great idea. I leave so far out in the country (half an hour one way) that I could make these before I could get to town.

Yum! I made some sourdough rolls on the weekend using the starter I made with you originally (using pineapple juice) and they turn out wonderful every time. It makes the best pizzas too

How do you store your starter? How long can it be stored? Your rolls look so perfect!
@NoreensKitchenOfficial8 жыл бұрын
In the refrigerator. Can be stored indefinitely if you tend to it properly. You need to take it out and bring it to room temperature and feed it before using it. The refrigerate again.

Sourdough starters are like the lamest pet you will ever love. Husband: "Hey what is this in the fridge?" Me: "I just want to make sure my bread is alive until I kill it by my own hand in the oven. Move along and don't touch the captives."

Hi Noreen, can the dough be frozen for later?
@NoreensKitchenOfficial9 жыл бұрын
Dough should not be frozen in general. It should be baked first and then the final product frozen for later use. Baked goods, when wrapped and prepared properly will hold in the freezer fro 3 months. I do not recommend freezing the dough. You see frozen dough at the store and that is prepared on a commercial level with quick freezing machines that freeze the dough so fast it does not have time to rise. When trying to freeze dough at home, it will continue to inflate before it solidifies. When you thaw the dough it will become over risen and the final result will be less than satisfactory.

I just don't know what i am doing wrong every time i try to make sourdough dough it just sticks to evertthing and can kneed it by hand or in my kitchenaid i have a glass bowl that cam with mine and the dough just sticks to the sides of the the bowl or just sticks to my hook and climbs up the hook and doesn't get kneeded, i am so frustrated because i know it is supposed to be sticky buy the more flour i add the stiffer the dough gets and it turns out dry, don't know what i am doing wrong.

Mmmm. Hey I love that Misto of yours! If you get another one you can just twist some rubber bands around one of them. No labels! This video only plays for me until you start portioning the rolls and it says it's only 5:21 long. I don't know what's happening to your videos when I try to watch them. grrrr.
