Thanks Noreen! Have been using your sour dough starter for the past month or so. Made mine from semi flat lambrusco. It's a happy little thing. Appreciate this recipe for rye since it's a family favorite. Cook on!

just baked my first rye! i don't think i let it rise long enough. rose it over night in fridge then only at RT for 1 hour after that . looks good but did not rise much. thanks for our video learned alot from it. i've watched a lot of videos wish i had seen yours before i baked ..... best

There is no substitute. You of course can leave it out but it will not be the same

Rawr from the Dino Jazzy A quick look at my channel page will reveal an entire sourdough playlist that has a series of how I make sourdough starter from the beginning. This is one of those times when I don't usually answer a person because it is fairly self explanatory. Always check the channel page.
