Hello , I need help , I fix my own stuff but this has me beat , 98 Mitsubishi pajero / montero lwb gls , I have no top brake light and no rear wiper , i have turn signals , bottom brake lights work , I have tested the bulbs and the cluster and fuses , I hit a huge pot hole smelled some plastic burn, lost my alternator the A/T light battery light came on was down to 9v I replaced with new one thats all good but I can't find why brake and rear wiper won't work , is there a relay or something obvious or secret im missing ? any ideas? Would massively appreciate any wisdom I'm not usually one to ask but I have to admit I can't work it out .

Yup- the traction control light was intermittently showing up on my son’s 2017 Nissan Altima. However, last few days, car would not start or could not it out of park. Heading to Nissan tmrw to grab a new switch. Seems pretty straightforward on the install. Hope it resolves this for me.

Hi my car is better in the shop twice and everything that you just showed on that video from about shifting from Park is exactly what my car is doing and what was done to it. It's sad that there are mechanics out there that will fix one tiny thing wait for you to break down to fix the next thing that caused it to begin with. Can't trust anyone it's really sad. Great compilation! However, you still missed one symptom. The park lock solenoid can go crazy and click hysterically or the lever can be constantly unlocked. I have experienced both! It took me a while to figure it out, if you have trouble with your gearbox, the brake light switch isn't the first thing you think of.

What about the VDC? ABS? It also controls the TCM by disconnecting the clutch durning the engine/transmission/drive line

What if my only symptom is not being able to shift out of park? I always manage to eventually get it out of park, but how much brake I need to apply always changes. Sometimes it's all way down, sometimes it's barely any brake at all. I've learned to just listen for the click of when it activates.

This is exactly the problem that I'm having, and the fix looks great...but it would be nice if you'd included how you got the bolt into that space! I'm thinking I'll have to remove the brake pedal or the switch, because there definitely isn't enough space to get it in there without moving something else...

Nah. Get upside and thread the needle. Just did it on an 08 Spectre. It would be easier if you could move stuff. Maybe some cars you have to. I used a board to keep brake pedal depressed to give me more room.

The back lights on my 2002 Toyota Sienna were not turning off after shutting off the car. I then discovered that the cushion stopper broke into pieces and I found them on the carpet under the steering wheel. I ordered the stopper and replaced it but the lights still remain on. Is there something that needs to be reset?

Symptoms i had was, Accelerator response is slow. pressing clutch and brake and trying to move the accelerator don't work, i had to pump few times. i disconnect the brake light switch (4 pin brake engage signal send to ecu) and accelerator was back to normal.

You should check your relays and fuses. If they're blown it will short the switch everytime

Hi. I have a Golf6 Plus from 2010. Suddenly my cruise control worked only and only if the high beam was turned on on the same stork. The service changed the stork, everything was fine for a week or so than the CC started to not work again, show exclamation mark. In the beginning it turned on but after a while, 1-3 minutesor so turned of, the exclamation mark appeared. After 3 more days I could not start the CC in any condition. No other issues other than this exclamation mark when I turn the cruise control on. Could this be because of a faulty brake light switch??

Can it also mess with acceleration as I heard that since the brake switch activated ABS it could be sending a signal and acceleration could be affected? There are times I am slowing down and when i let go of the brake and step im the accelerator it does not pick up. I have to let go of the accelerator and press again to pick up.

Can it cause car loosing acceleration while driving? Cuz mine have this issue and theres no code. then I have to remove feet from accelerator and then press again and it works. And notice that my break light are keep getting on I have to jerk brake paddle couple of time then it feel light acceleration paddle , but it keep happening break is on speed start going down , I went to garage they can't find anything, they said it gear prob, some say it's supercharger prob bla bla , change the transmission oil cost 100$ 😑 but issue is there

Got my car back from the dealership and my break lights don’t turn on when pressing them. I have a Lexus es 350 2015 the fuses are all okay none are blown out. But all break lights don’t work. The weird part was they worked before sending it into the dealership when I got it back they didn’t work anymore. I really do hope it’s just a faulty break switch or something not too expensive. I got rear ended but didn’t damage any components. Any device on what else could be wrong? Really don’t want to spend 400-800 on repairs

@@melancholypuppy3595 figured it out the dealership was trying to charge 3k but ended up fixing it at home by slapping the trunk and figured out the wire was clenched by a screw. Re wrapped in electric tape and brake lights work again.

Hopefully someone answers your concern. My 2000 ford expedition 4.6L V8 Triton XLT won't shift back into park, drive or reverse. It will only go in neutral, 2 and 1 gears. And I can only start it in neutral. I can only drive in 2 and when I want to "park" I have to put it in neutral. I don't know if it's my shift interlock solenoid or something else.🤷🏽‍♀️ As a female I am learning to repair my own vehicle since I was ripped off once.

My cruise control doesn’t turn on, and when I’m braking my brake lights will flash but then turn off, I have to press hard to get my brake lights to turn on when stopped at a light. Even then they’ll still flicker or turn off. SOMETIMES when I try to put my truck into gear I have to press down pretty hard on the brakes to get it into gear.
