Hello ! I totally agree with you! My main problem is the children's connection + sometimes they are distracted at home during the online class. What I do is that I send a video epprox. 40 min), gving "missions" to the children for them to learn key words/sentences. Then, I do a shorter Zoom session (approx. 20 min) with game to check what they've learned through games. I have7 classes (aged 7-11) and I worked very long hours, but I find it very interesting as it pushes me the re-think all my classes. I get fantastic results... but I couldn't keep up with that rythme for too many minths (I also have 5 children). I'll be happy to discover your videos later on !! I've already subscried!

I’m looking foward to spend some time teaching in Japan next year as well, hope I get any opportunity! Thank you for the tips! I’m a beginner teacher from Brazil 🤗

Good luck in Japan! In Japan the English classes are as much about entertainment as learning English so keep the classes light and fun.

Hey, I am Brazilian, too, and I lived in Japan for over 12 years. I never taught English there, but I know that you must be an English native speaker and have a passport from an English-speaking country in order to work for a language school in Japan and to get a working visa permit. Unless you have Japanese heritage and that would solve the visa issue, but you wouldn't get a job as easily as an English native speaker.

Work online as well but my institution uses classin and I really enjoy the app
@Easyeslgames19784 жыл бұрын
I didn’t know classin, watching their demo video looks good. I only chose miro because it was the first thing I found that got the hang of quickly. Long term I might have to migrate to a more dedicated platform like classin. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi, could you please tell me the price of Classin? Looking at it online and it doesn't seem to say a price beyond a free trial. Miro, on the other hand, looks to be free for a single user. Huge thanks, by the way, to the original uploader. I've forwarded on your video to my workmates! 👍🏼
@Easyeslgames19784 жыл бұрын
I couldn’t find the classin price either, possibly they want you to contact them for a custom price. It maybe targeted at larger institutions, not sure. Miro is free for 3 boards, $20 a month for unlimited boards and 2 users. Then it’s an extra $10 a month for each user. I like it but that plus zoom on an older pc slows down a lot. I just screen share from zoom and duplicate the lesson plans each week, editing what needs to be changed.

@@Easyeslgames1978 Another simple, quick and no-frills online Whiteboard is called Awwapp. No sign-up required, just a realtime rudimentary whiteboard on a web page. I've been using it lots recently. It might help with your computer slowdown. Boards you create can be saved as image or PDF, so they can be used again in future sessions. Hope this helps. In the meantime, I'll mess around with Miro and see if it's worth keeping. Thanks everyone!
