I lived in Japan for 5 years and loved everyday there... the people, culture and food. I miss all the vending machines. Getting a can of hot or cold coffee anytime I want. But I miss the most is how clean, organized and functional the cities are. Very respectful people.

@@easygoingsolotravel There are vending machines in America, but nine times out of ten they don't work and/or have broken parts unless you're in a rock establishment. Most times, people don't even let you use them. And, their quality of food is nowhere near the quality of food in Japanese vending machines.

Japan is a bucket list travel for me. I've watched multiple walking ambiance videos here, where the photographer goes across several districts in a large city. The atmosphere seems pleasant even when it's crowded...you don't see litter in the streets. Downtowns in Tokyo and elsewhere seem to be carpeted vertically in glowing signs, but yet at least on camera, they appear to be friendly pastels that don't appear to be overpowering and annoying. The net effect I get from these video blogs is that the Japanese put tremendous care into their urban planning, making their cities as livable as they are easy to get around.

Only take 1 egg. Love how the honor system works in Japan. Hate to say it but in USA far too many would take ALL the eggs, stay at the free alcohol until they were terribly drunk and then trash the place. :(

Well i wouldnt be having any as they arent cooked, lol. But if they were I may have 2. But only because I don't eat rice. I can guarantee most don't stick to the 1egg rule. I can tell its a great place & other than an extra egg id be a good guest. The place looks lovely & clean , and all the things to rent is great. I can tell its a very trustworthy & honest place. Im from the UK. Unfortunately this wouldn't last a minute here. They'd be drunk fights, all sorts.

​@@danielch6662 I don't know if you've ever tried, but over 80% in simple starch (rice or refined flour) for more than 2 days tend to feel very horrible in my throat. It is totally fine for a meal or two but builds up overtime. Now, you could eat an increasingly large amount of miso and condiment to offset, but that might be a worrying amount of salt intake. The egg would have been great but that doesn't seem to be in the cards for you. Corn or potato starch is a lot better for mono-food, it's just the simple starch that's problematic to me. I've... had experiences, stemming either from opportunity (DD delivered the wrong order to me, of like 30 bagels, I called and they told me to keep it or toss it so...) or laziness (rice is so easy to make, and a bit of pickled veggie and/or soy sauce...). They go from great to oh gawd after about 4 meals for me.

I've generally found Japanese hotels to be outstanding. The traditional inns are expensive, but even the cheaper business hotels have great amenities. I usually travel with my wife, so haven't tried a capsule hotel yet. This one is amazing!

I lived in Japan for 3 years and I found nearly everything to be rather expensive. At the time the conversion rate was about 80-90 yen to $1 USD. This capsule hotel seems like such a great deal with all of the amenities it offers!

@@ImperialPimp But I always heard it cost $5-10 USA dollars for a single apple. If looking for a perfect apple it's around 10 grand. I'd go nuts if I wasn't allowed to smoke in these hotels. I assume their cigarettes are rice paper? My mom brought me home a free carton of Marlboro lights from China... Tour bus gave them to her for free... It was rice paper! And way better than American and Mexican paper

@@shac9131 A single apple (if it's from Japan) can cost $5 easily. But cheaper apples are available! That's what Japan gives you - choice. Apples can run up to $100 a small box if you want them. And the flavor of these apples ?! UNBELIEVABLE. They are simply the best apples in the world. It breaks down like this : my rent is $250 a month, living 10 mins walk from a train station that takes me to the world's biggest and most fascinating City (Tokyo) for $3.95. Groceries are over all 15 - 20% cheaper than the equivalent in the States. A very satisfying meal at an average restaurant is $9 (including drinks an no tip, tipping culture doesn't exist). Im a smoker, so the $4.75 pack of American Spirit cigarettes is very welcome. A huge traditional wooden family house in the countryside (a fixer-upper) can be found for about $27,000 - $50,000. Unreal. Add on top of that NO street crime, people returning your wallet full of cash when you drop it, the most beautiful countryside you can imagine, and some of the world's most beautiful woman (in my eyes) - why would I EVER return to the States ?! No thank you !

This hotel was peaceful and calm. I am replying from a remote island where I am traveling alone and the remote island where I am staying was more peaceful and calm. Motorcycles on this island are kept unlocked. I heard that it is because no one steals them. We will upload a video of the peaceful island soon if you would like to see it. ありがとう

Yeah there'd be dodge chargers outside selling fentanyl and tricks tryin to sell they azz. 1 egg policy would make people angry instead of being grateful and probably trash the place. At $40 a night the place would turn to dirt in a month and go outta business because they'd need to pay security so the booze wasn't stolen. They'd probably have robbers in the shower area jacking your stuff just for kicks. Only in respectful cultures could a place like this operate efficiently. In the USA most good things get ruined by ungrateful selfish people who never think of how their actions effect others. Impulse control and self awareness are not in abundance in America any longer.

While on a cultural exchange in Japan, my students and our hosts stayed in a traditional inn in Kyoto. The week before I threw my back out sleeping on tatami. When I entered my room there were five mattresses (shikibuton) piled on top of one another topped with a comforter (kakebuton). Ando sensei said it was a “Shogun bed!”

While the price might be on the higher end for a capsule hotel, I’d say you get good value for your money with everything that’s included/available for free when staying there. Also really good deal for people staying longer

@@easygoingsolotravel Yeah, you might have a small space in a capsule hotel, but with everything included in this one it would really be a viable option for people instead of a regular hotel room that can cost the same or more and where less is included in the fee. The one thing you miss out on in a capsule hotel would be private space and more privacy but I don’t think that would be much of an issue for most people since Japanese people are very respectful. If I visit Japan sometime I’d likely stay in capsule hotels a lot of the time and be fine with it, but I’d not feel safe doing the same here in Europe and especially not if visiting USA again, and I have stayed in hostels here in Sweden, sharing toon with 5 others and while it was fine, I was also lucky to have good roommates during the stay

Capsule hotels are small... I like those small beds because they are fun and different from the beds I usually sleep in. There is no privacy, but the people using the room are very well mannered, so it is a very comfortable place to stay. I believe that it is safe to stay in capsule hotels in Japan, no matter where you stay. Even if you forget something, they will take you home and nothing is stolen. If you have a chance, please come to Japan and enjoy capsule hotels. ありがとう！

Surprisingly everything was extremely affordable. I had heard Japan cost much more than say the US but these prices are way more affordable, especially considering how much you get, than a large US city. Thanks for the knowledge. Japan is now at the top of my must see list.

Love Japan. I stayed in a capsule hotel while flying thru and had a 12hr layover… Love the people, the food. Everything. Japan air was also my favorite airline as well…

@@easygoingsolotravel Yes! I worked at Kawaba Ski in Gunma ken. We traveled on our days off. I loved taking the trains and walking around Tokyo. Visited many sites. Made some great friends. One of my Canadian co-workers stayed and runs a powder lodge now in Hakuba with his family. I bet a lot has changed and someday would love to return - so different from where I live (small town - 5000 people). I will watch more of your videos :) They help me relax!

You lived in Gunma Prefecture! Were you an instructor at a ski resort? I have never been to Gunma Prefecture and would like to visit one day. And the Japanese also say that Gunma Prefecture is the most rural in Japan (laughs). Winter's my favourite season because it's when the food's good! I hope to visit Gunma one day for one of my videos! I've decided that's where I want to go!

@@easygoingsolotravel Yes :) I do remember Numata (closest town to the ski resort) was know for it's apples and yogurt drink. It was a work abroad program so we rotated through different jobs at the resort. I worked in a curry buffet restaurant (yum!), a wood fired pizza restaurant, a sandwich shop and also as a lift operator. I was a snowboarder at the time but it wasn't allowed at our resort so I switched back to skiing but wasn't an instructor. Maebashi and Takaski were nice cities to visit. Also skied at Katashina and Naeba. Visited Nagano (year before Olympics - but the souvenirs were already out). Tokyo Disney was fun and the Tsukiji fish market. I have memories of Shibuya, Shinjuku, Kamakura, Hiroshima, Bjork concert, many temples, onsens, Fujiya Hotel in Hakone and year end trip to Ishigaki Jima :)❤️ 🇯🇵

WoW! This is the first capsule hotel video of all the ones I have watched that had so many free things to offer! Pretty amazing 🤩 I do understand about being conservative when taking food and drinks etc but it’s true there are some Guys (especially guys) 🤔 especially young adult guys! from the USA that would take advantage and take way too much of food and drink etc. Those types are jerks 🤨and not representing the rest of us! 🤷🏼‍♀️🫣

This would be great gor people who sleep in their cars. Inexpensive for value. Are the eggs soft boiled or raw? In America, each item would need a key card and what you buy is prepaid and your keycard would only limit so much alcohol. Some Americans can't regulate their alcohol consumption. LaQuinta Inn Hotels in America have free breakfast. Anything breakfast is free. You can make your own waffles. And if my memory is correct, they have boiled eggs and scrambled eggs unlimited. I love staying at this hotel. Btw, I don't work for this hotel but I would like to see a monthly senior rate, so seniors who are tired of living alone and cooking a meal could afford to stay there as their residence. I know I would. The hotel is clean, quiet with free Wi-Fi, cable TV in your room and common areas to read or play cards. This hotel is just off major interstate highways and generally in walking distance to shops. Please, some big investor style our hotels like LA Quinto for seniors on a fixed income. The average Social security check is $1500.00. That's not a livable income but it could be with a hotel like I described. Thank you for your video.

In it, he was the first to coin the term "cyberspace," and much of the "Matrix" themes are taken from his ideas. He called the mini-rooms "coffins" as they were not as pleasant as the ones in Japan now. You should Google him. He is a fascinating writer. As to his travels? That never interested me.
