I bought one today, it's my third cordless mower. Mine came with the 5 Ah battery. Out of the box it carries 5 years warranty for the mower and three years for the battery.

Thanks for this informative review. It really has made me realise that these Ego mowers are no way worth their ridiculous price tag. With a mere run time of 20 minutes, 40 minutes or 60 minutes, depending on the battery size (and your bank balance), I would be lucky to cover a quarter of my lawn. I have a Bosch Rotak (with the same specs as the Ego 1903) and two 5ah batteries which can easily cover my lawn with both batteries. I've had the mower for over 8 years and it's never let me down. It cost me £320 including both batteries and rapid charger. The Ego range are over double and I have seen genuine online reviews where they are barely lasting a year or two and their customer support is apparently awful. I think ill stick to my Bosch or even upgrade

Superb review that deserves many, many more likes. Thank you very much. I was looking at the current version of this mower yesterday and on the face of it, it knocks the spots off anything even quite a bit higher in price. As a result of your video, I'm just going to place an order together with the roller kit and a bare strimmer. Thank you!

Great review! Heaps of detail, I have only recently come across EGO and have been really impressed. I looked at one of the 42cm EGO mower's this morning, it was really quiet. Have been considering going cheap with an Ozito that has some great reviews versus the EGO, I think your review has tipped the scales in favour of the EGO. I can get the 56v 42 cm with a 5 Ah battery which can then be shared with the line trimmer. Thanks again for taking the time to provide really useful information for others to use!

A very good and thorough test especially with the scrubland test as not all lawns are pristine and are scrubland like or have very long grass. Glad you did this as most other reviewers don't!! Been looking at this bramd for a week or so now trying to see as many good in depth reviews as possible. Got shown the more expensive and larger lodel with the 5ah battery but was over £500 😥 So this seems to be the best choice and value so far with very good build quality. Excellent and thorough review. Just made my decesion a whole lot easier 👍👍🤗

Very tempted by this - Neighbours all have Petrol mowers but put off by the noise and the annual service cost which is the same as the garage charges for the car!

If you used the self propelled feature less does the battery life last noticeable longer?
@EasyLawnMowing3 жыл бұрын
Hi James, that is correct, using the self-propelled drive less will prolong the runtime of the battery.

Great review, thanks - Nice dog too! Do you think the mower would be heavy enough for the rear roller addition to be worthwhile? Cheers.
@EasyLawnMowing4 жыл бұрын
Hi, this mower with a 2.5Ah battery weights around 28 kg, so would initially give a striped lawn appearance. However, for a roller to actually flatten any raised areas in the lawn and for the stripes to last longer than one or two days, then you would need around 40 kg. Thanks, yes the dog loves helping me... Hope this helps. Thanks Mark

Thanks for this review. Would you buy this or the much less expensive Worx WG743E?
@EasyLawnMowing4 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt It really depends on your circumstances, such a lawn size and condition. I have just done a review (link below) of the WG743E and it is indeed a good, solid performing mower that is great value. The Ego is definitely a different beast in terms of build quality and performance. This may mean it is overkill for your particular lawn and the WORX may be a better option. easylawnmowing.co.uk/worx-wg743e-1-review/ Many thanks Mark

You say the battery runtime is 15 minutes. Did it go over the 15 minutes or did you have to recharge at any time? Great review I think I’m buying this model but the run time concerns me
@EasyLawnMowing4 жыл бұрын
Hi Barb Yes runtime is around 15-20 minutes for this battery. Other batteries are available but they are not cheap. The larger 4Ah battery is around £160. You can see the other batteries available on this link. egopowerplus.co.uk/products/batteries-chargers Many thanks Mark

Can you use it without sp? Does it turn the motor when it’s pushed or does it go smoothly. And how can you change direction from front to backward so fast if you used sp?
@EasyLawnMowing7 ай бұрын
Hi, when you disengage the SP drive/brake, the mower is free to push and pull.
@Wildcatjames13 жыл бұрын
I noticed that the much kit comes with its own blade, but does that mean that every time you want to mulch you need to change the blade from the standard cutting one to the mulch one?
@EasyLawnMowing3 жыл бұрын
Hi James, you would just leave the mulching blade on as this will also help to improve the grass collection efficiency. Some manufacturers will fit a mulching design blade as standard with an optional mulching plug, however with the EGO the mulching kit came some time after the mower was first released.

You can use a bigger battery up to 10 amps for a hour or more of run time.
@EasyLawnMowing3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cat, yes you can use the 10.0Ah battery that will mow up to 1600 metres squared. The cost of the battery at around £400 is somewhat of an investment but you can't beat EGO's battery technology. Mark

Sorry appreciate this is an old video now. I’m looking at 42cm EGO push version for £455 vs GTech with a discount code for £315. GTech is lighter and have tried one and it does the job well. Would you say the EGO is worth the extra investment bearing in mind you get the lower spec battery with the standard entry level push version. Any advice would be a great help thank you 👍🏻
@EasyLawnMowing5 ай бұрын
The GTech and the EGO mowers are big purchases and you could get something more budget friendly. Out of these 2 mowers, I would definitely purchase the EGO due to the better battery technology and build quality. If you have the budget then the EGO would make a good purchase, however you may want to consider the LawnMaster 41cm with 4 batteries. Take a look at my review and video below - easylawnmowing.co.uk/lawnmaster-41cm-cordless-lawn-mower-review/ All the best Mark
@Liverpool1ne5 ай бұрын
@@EasyLawnMowing thank you for the reply. That does look like a very capable machine with better runtime, features (rear roller) and similar weight to the GTech for the same price with your 10% off code. The issue with the EGO is I would prefer a model with better battery so we are in to £600 territory which is outside of budget. I will have a serious look at your suggestion thank you along with Cobra and Greenworks too 👍🏻

Would this handle thick buffalo grass and steep incline land? I'm using petrol self propelled, not sure if battery one can tackle it
@EasyLawnMowing2 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, being located in the UK I do not have any experience with buffalo grass, I believe that this would reduce the runtime quite significantly and would therefore stick with petrol over the longer term.

Hi great Video Been thinking of getting one of these Ego LM1903E-SP 47cm. Can you tell me when using the self drive while cutting that when you let go of the self drive and the mower stops travelling forward, can you immediately pull the lawn mower back or do you have to push the mower forward before being able to pull the mower back. How long will the battery last if using the self drive continuously cutting dry grass about 5cm to 2.5cm on the flat. I have to use self drive all the time my lawn is about 160 sqm and need to do shunts backwards and forwards many thanks
@EasyLawnMowing4 жыл бұрын
Hi Nick, yes you are correct, once I let go of the self drive button and the mower came to a stop, I did have to push it slightly forward before I could pull it back. This LM1903E-SP mower comes supplied with 5.0Ah battery which will give you around 20 to 25 mins with the self propulsion, so should be more than enough for your sized lawn, combined with the 47cm blade. Hope this helps, Mark

It really comes down to the amount of charges and use, and how demanding the lawn is that you are cutting. In general you should be looking at around 5 years.
