Great video! For those who haven't tried Minimax I just want to add that the standard version is wonderful for taking off weight (I use it all the time, never get tired in my back or arms) but it actually enhances the up/down bumps when you walk. You'll get a much smoother result if you walk without it. I'll probably get a Stabil light to address this. Oh, and we absolutely do NOT say "Schtabil" in Sweden! :) (that would be in Germany perhaps)

@@haikdadras647 ideal setup. I went and got the smallrig ring to make it better though. it caps out the weight so you may want to drop the side handle on the c200, which is what I do most times on the crane. Ans if you are really tight with weight, use the smaller battery. But aside from that it is now my go to setup.

Very insightful, thanks! Already have the standard MINIMAX but now I'm seriously considering to upgrade the arm because of this video. Only gripe seems to be that the camera/gimbal hangs very low... But I understand it's b/c of the long gimbal grip and not the Easyrig. Short PSA: Every standard MINIMAX with a serial number upwards from MM8179 can be upgraded with the STABIL LIGHT arm! *yay*

Hey Collin. So you can order the easy rig with either the normal clamp or with their new quick release. I'd recommend the quick release cause it's way more versatile than the clamp. Plus if you ever wanted to use the clamp, you can always buy it separately and attach it to the quick release.

The other question, what was the longest focal length you used with easy rig and what do you think is the longest focal length to walk with following a moving object which is in a longer 10-15m distance? Thank you, for your answer, with best regards J.

I'm sorry but that handheld comparison is a bit pointless with the IBIS of the camera activated and a tiny little camera without proper grip. Would be interesting to see the difference with a rigged up camera with two sturdy handles and no IBIS.

@HeyAdamGrasso
@HeyAdamGrasso 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Frank :) I've never tried the Serene arm, but I would presume that the native Easy Rig Stabil would be a little better. Also the serene arm is around 1000usd so it's probably better to just get the stabil so you don't have to spend time taking apart the easy rig in order to add on the serene arm

Hi awesome video, I just received my easyrig mini max with stabil light arm, I understand that the top arm needs to be in the “middle” balance holding the gimble+camera, but what about the back knob that controls the rope tension, what is the proper amount of tension of the rope? Are you supposed to let the rope be loose enough so the camera drops slightly? Or super tight? please help and thank you
@HeyAdamGrasso
@HeyAdamGrasso Жыл бұрын
Hey :) it should be tight enough that you can let go of your camera rig and the rope doesn’t extend or retract.

Great video. How reliable do you say is the method your attaching the rs2 to the easyrig?
@HeyAdamGrasso
@HeyAdamGrasso 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Tayo. It's reliable. You just have to watch out for the quick release that you attach on the gimbal, cause if you don't tighten it up properly, as you use the gimbal it will slowly get looser and looser. Meaning that it can eventually unscrew itself from the gimbal. So just make sure that you tighten it to the RS2 properly, ideally with a wrench/spanner so it's as tight as possible before use.

Thank you for this video, Adam. Have you gotten to do much handheld work on the stabil light since? I'll be using with a ~12 LB rig, no IBIS. Curious how it performs while walking, as my current minimax is quite bad for this. appreciate your time.

You're welcome Ben. I've done some projects handheld with it. It's definitely better than the original minimax at mitigating that up and down movement you get from walking. Is it 2k worth of a difference? That's a harder one to say. If you can sell your old minimax for a decent price, it might be worth the upgrade.

Hi,this is very informative video! However, as someone never use any kind of easyrig, I'm wondering is this going to put all the weight to your back or waist or legs. Because the easy rig seems syill works like a backpack. Which means the weight is still on back and waist. That's not what the operator want, we want the weight on hip and legs as much as possible, so I'm consider easy rig and tilts float. Because the float seems weight free from waist and above. But the down side is you will need dji rs2 or 3 for it's most potential.
@HeyAdamGrasso
@HeyAdamGrasso 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Leon. Thanks :) The weight is all distributed to the waist/hips/thighs, not your back. So your upper and lower back + your shoulder get a lot of the strain and weight taken off them.

Hey man. So the grip is called the DJI RS2 & RSC2 Twist Grip Dual Handle To connect the gimbal to the Easy Rig, the easy rig comes with quick-release connectors that you simply screw into the bottom of the gimbal. It's the same hole that you screw the DJI's stand into. Hope this helps :)
