Food looks amazing. For those saying it's French first, that fish is not French. Duck is eaten a lot in Vietnam, unlike in the US. Yes, there are elements of French and a bit of Chinese, but it's definitely Viet the way it's served and even in it's presentation of the noodles (French don't do noodles), fresh herbs (this is extremely Viet as herbs are king of the cuisine there), veggies, dips, etc.

As a local this place is so overrated. 78 dollars for the dry aged duck and 54 dollars for the whole fried fish. A whole rockfish costs 5 dollars at the docks btw and less than 20 at local Mexican restaurants. Oh also they add a 20% service charge on your check and then expect you to tip afterwards.

As someone born in Vietnam, visits and travels back to Vietnam almost yearly and also on the flip side fishes rock fish (when in season) this restaurant is as Vietnamese as Olive garden. It is Californian, which is fine but it is so far from Vietnamese it's like saying spaghetti with meatballs and tomato sauce is chinese because noodles were made in China. Vegan fish sauce?????
