I’ve lost roughly 115 pounds (from 315 down to 202ish) by prioritizing protein. I’m a 6’4” guy and I wasn’t getting nearly enough as I thought. Beef eggs chicken fish cottage cheese Greek Yogurt. It kills your cravings for sugar and carbs….also makes you feel full so you don’t snack and it’s hard to overeat. Prioritizing protein while exercising 6 times a week has helped me tremendously

I’m supposed to have 135g of protein a day but since I have been adding 40-50g per meal I only have 2 meals because I feel so full I can’t force my body to eat the third meal.
@mellocello1873 ай бұрын
You can’t absorb that much protein in one meal. You might get a second or third opinion on what you are doing.
@ri34142 ай бұрын
@@mellocello187that’s been debunked multiple times actually. while there’s a limit on how fast your body can absorb the protein, any excess will just reside in your gut. so there’s no limit on how *much* you can eat in one sitting

Hi Team Autumn! I know she said that to calculate your specific intake you take about .7 g per pound of bodyweight, but she taught this in a more nuanced way in a previous video. If I remember correctly it's .7g of protein per pound of LEAN bodyweight---using your total bodyweight would put you over a bit, but it's really hard to eat too much protein, usually people get satiated before they overeat it. I hope this helps! Love your work, Autumn! ❤️ Thanks for everything! 🎉

Hi Autumn, love your posts. Would there be any chance of doing a similar video, delivering over 100grams of protein, but for those of us with gluten intolerance please? Mine causes post nasal drip, so not as severe as those who suffer with stomach issues, but I feel so much better when i eat gluten free! Many thanks, Steve

I think your methods are getting more popular and practice! It’s been interesting watching all these great protein sources at the grocery store become more difficult to get 🤣 every time I would buy my yogurt I remember thinking, “gosh, why aren’t people onto the benefits of this whole milk plain Greek yogurt over all this sugary nonfat stuff?” now I’m having a hard time getting my yogurt and I’m watching all the nonfat stuff Stay on the shelf!🎉 same with cottage cheese and some meat cuts. it’s great to see that people are starting to catch up on this method of eating! Hopefully the demand will boost a little supply though!

But I was used to eat oatmeal.. is it ok if I add protein powder and yogurt to the oats? I keep getting confusing information about oats… some say it’s a powerful nutritional food and others say it’s not!!

For the elderly low protein means low muscle density increasing ‘falls risk’. More likely to fall without muscles to help remain upright. Low muscle mass increases what I call the ‘splat’ factor. An elderly person falls and they hit the ground like a bag of spuds! Increasing the chances of serious injury including head injury - brain injury.

What about kidney beans and lentils? Are they good sources of protein to get to 100?
@ShoppingEmail-dr1fs3 ай бұрын
lentils are 10% protein by weight, but the protein is not absorbed and digested, the DIAAS can let you know how to adjust to plant proteins (you have to eat more than the grams stated as it's not fully digested and absorbed, except for soy is equivalent to whey, and you need to balance the limiting amino acids). the DIAAS for cooked lentils is a score of .54-.61 (whey is 1) - have a read through the stuff online about the DIAAS. it's on Wiki as well. I never eat any beans but consider lentils a good source of carbohydrate, it's not a 'good' source of protein. you can google "Digestible Indispensable Amino Acid Scores (DIAAS) of Six Cooked Chinese Pulses Fei Han" and read a bit about it. I love lentils but don't consider them a protein source, they would be 'in addition' to my animal protein.

Hi Glenda! Due to the quantity of beans and legumes you would need to consume to achieve your protein needs, if you're plant based, soy products like tempeh are a much better option due to the lower starch content. You can check out my video here for more details on the best plant based sources to reach your protein needs: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpOWc32JZdygprssi=qurol5BkysIQchGp

Thanks Autumn for your reply. I do eat meat. I’ve just been adding beans of all kinds to my meals to round out the protein. For example: kale with seasoned 0:02 hamburger meat, beans and a couple of boiled eggs. A few almonds mixed in.

If we take more of the low quality protein can we catch up with the high quality protein? Im lactose intolerant and pea protein is what I am using in my smoothie but didn’t know it’s not a good quality protein. I feel very full and satisfied after having it though. I also heard soya is not a great substitute. Help please!!

I am struggling with finding the balance between getting higher protein while also trying to eat less overall and do some length of intermittent fasting most days (I don’t go too long, mostly 12-15 hours). So this might sound silly… Is it .7 g times current body weight or goal weight? I mean, that's like you know 20-30 g difference depending on how much weight you wanna lose. I know it's a stupid question, but it doesn't seem obvious to me right now. Yeah I just shoot for 100 because I feel like that's good enough and it's really hard to even get there for me.

What do you generally eat in a day to get this much? I'm just trying to hit 100gms, but struggling.
@SLocky823 ай бұрын
@aprilfarago3935 Usually chicken sausage with eggs(then bulked up with egg whites) with mushrooms/avocado/spinach...kind of like a scramble and a side of berries Lunch is either leftovers from night before such as a beef taco bowl, or tuna slaw salad, then I have a yoghurt bowl with homemade granola and apple/nut butter Dinner I like to mix it up, tonight I'm having Salmon with green beans and some roasted veg, but I plan the meal around my protein and go from there. I do also bake some low sugar, high protein 'desserts' on a Sunday for the week ahead and have something before I start my fast, for me life's too short to not enjoy something sweet 😋 and ot also helps boost protein intake Egg whites are brilliant for this too as you can bulk up meals yo add protein without too many calories
