Eating at The Funky Monkey Gastrobar in Mount Dora, Florida | Hidden Gem Restaurant in Mount Dora

In today's video, we have tried a lot of restaurants in Mount Dora, Florida and we wanted to try another restaurant in Downtown Mount Dora. There are still a few left but not many and this time we decided to try The Funky Monkey Gastrobar. Not to be confused with the Frog and Monkey, The Funky Monkey is on the second floor of the Renaissance building. We didn’t know what to expect but were greatly surprised at how cool the interior was and that they actually had a pretty good menu! The only thing we would say is the music was a little loud but you should expect that going into a place like that. As far as the food choices, they are more like appetizers/shareable items but they had some good choices and the things we got were really good! We also got some dessert and it was great! The staff was friendly and you have views of Downtown Mount Dora. Plus, when you are done eating, you can take a stroll through downtown. Yes it's the same owners as Frog & Monkey. I haven't been yet, glad you made this video! Have you tried Butcher's Nook yet? Fantastic sandwiches. They're over next to Maggie's Attic near Pisces Rising.

@@thealtemlife It's absolutely FANTASTIC! Bear in mind, they only have a few small two-top tables, so I wouldn't call it a restaurant. It is, however, a WONDERFUL proper deli with very high quality meats, bread and everything else. If it wasn't so hot out I'd say grab a sandwich and head to to the park across the street. They're not huge sandwiches, but they're hearty so you and Tember might be able to share one. It's in that alley shared with Maggie's Attic. Just thought you should know. They have a lot of buzz right now. People in the service industry downtown Mount Dora seem to be all eating at The Butcher's Nook. If the staff at all the local restaurants and bars drool over your place? You're doing something right. I think they do a lot more takeout than they do dine-in so you might be able to film there wihout too much noise (barring festivals or fairs!). From everything I hear, they have extremely good quality meats. I'm pescatarian and haven't had meat since 1987 but I have had the Caprese sandwich there twice now, and it's REALLY good. All the ingredients seem very high quality, and I would LOVE to know where that bread is from. It's seriously amazing. Hope you check them out and give them some Altem Life love. Love you guys!

Maybe there is a misunderstanding because what you are stating is not actually what happened. The commenter had not suggested that we go and try different French fries, but that they were bothered that we tried French fries and asked us to stop. I simply stated that we will continue to do what we always have been doing on our KZbin channel. And yes, we are Jesus loving people and anyone who knows us knows that. However, if that comment offended you enough to unsubscribe then feel free not to watch as we will continue to be our authentic selves. @dayeightfloyd5495 regardless of what you are interpreting, my last comment explained the situation exactly as it happened. I went back and listened to the video and the way that Alex stated the comment contributed to the confusion, not his fault though as it was kind of an inside joke. The initial comment that we received was very rude toward us stating “Well are you just going to try French fries and review those?” Their comment was intended as a slight toward us and criticizing that we only ever ate French fries. So my comment back of we are going to do what we want is because we likely will order French fries again, whether someone asks us to stop or not. The amount of criticism we receive is minimal in comparison to the support and encouragement. One could say your response to this video was unnecessarily rude considering you are making judgements on someone based on a misconstrued comment. However, I recognize that you simply misinterpreted this snippet of conversation as easily happens. Ultimately, I don’t feel I need to defend myself because I know in my heart that what I was saying was not in a malicious or “rude” way. In the grand scheme of things, this is truly not a big deal and my last comment had the intentions of clarifying and squashing this as an adult on the receiving end of unnecessary criticism. If you would like to choose to attack my character and not reflect on the actual situation, feel free to unsubscribe and move on because this is not helping anyone. This is Alex. Clearly this is a misunderstanding. What I said in the video is not exactly what I meant it to sound like. I was having a bit of sarcasm. I meant that someone told us that all we do are fry tests and how boring that is and they wish we would have stopped. My response when I said the “fry” comment was meant to say that maybe we will just go around and try fries if we want. Tember’s comment was also stating the same thing saying that if we want to just do fry tests, then we will. I agree 100% with that comment. We can’t please everyone on this channel so we chose to just do our own thing. Nor will we take suggestions from someone who leaves a rude comment like the fry comment. I think your comment was not very polite at all and it was a bit unnecessary. If you don’t like watching us, it is okay to unsubscribe and go on your own way. We get tired of negative comments and when someone tells us how they don’t like a video because we test fries, we are going to keep pushing on with how we do them. Again, a bit of confusion but please next time maybe ask what we meant by it instead of make a comment like this.

Doesn’t that sound rude to you? I’m not trying to leave negative comments. That’s not what I do. I liked your channel up until that part of the video. As new You Tubers that want subscribers you should try to keep the “off handed” comments off the videos.
