Eating At The WORST Rated TGI Fridays In My State

There was a time when chain restaurants like this (TGIF, Applebees, Chilis, etc) were just absolutely popping. But they’ve been on a downward slope for several years even before 2020. It’s simply just not the same experience anymore.

I remember Ruby Tuesdays still being decent around 2004/2005. When they did that redesign and removed all the swag from the walls....and redid the menu. Whoever made that decision basically sealed the fate of Ruby Tuesdays death.

I saw that burger was $19 and thought to myself, “no way is a burger at TGIF worth that price.” These days everything is so expensive so I wanna know if were gettin a good value or bang for buck. I never go to TGI Fridays, but I ventured there a few months back. I got the appetizer sampler and EVERYTHING was cold to luke warm. The mozzarella sticks were luke warm with absolutely no pull. The only thing I enjoyed was the spinach artichoke dip. I don't know if or when I'll ever go back.

I got sticker shock seeing those prices on the menu. The quality has dropped significantly with many of these chain establishments and the prices are outrageous. If I'm going to dine out, I choose to stick with my local mom-and-pop spots.

TGI Friday's was the place to take a date! They had that marinara sauce with beef in it too for your mozzarella sticks too! They cut that out a long time ago. Its sad to see the classic joints starting to fail and fall off. But like you said at the end....oh well

TGI was good in the early 2000's to 2010's after that they started raising prices but changing items and quality. I recall last I've had it was 2 years ago when I did it wasn't a good experience and it was expensive!

Those prices ARE off the chain. You might as well go to an upscaled restaurant. I think they use prepared/frozen foods and use a microwave to reheat. In all fairness, the taco chip dish was probably meant to be shared, hence eaten faster. I've not been there in years and don't feel like I missed something. Much of it looked unappetizing. Thanks for your honest review. Many of these places and products started out good but now are a dive. When quality goes away, so do I.

Chain restaurants in the 90's used to always be on point. It was a fun Friday/Saturday treat with the fam to go out. Of course our mom and pops back then ALWAYS slapped. But now... it just seems like the attitude of people in general has decreased so bad, that it's melded over into the actual quality of the restaurants. Money's tight so they're pinching on quality ingredients and SIZE, and of course jacking prices without raising wages. So people are saying whatever, I'll cook the food but no love at all in.

Damn, Im a 80-90's child. Back then TGIF's was the shizznit! They had these jack daniels babyback ribs that were amazing. My buddy managed one so I always ate and drank for free. Hard to believe they fell off so much.

I was just about to say this myself. It really feels like so much food quality was dropped in favor of cutting costs sometime in the late 2000s/early 2010s and it just keeps getting worse. Very few decent restaurants in my portion of America.
