I’m from Texas but lived in Los Angeles for years and all the spots out there with crawfish sell frozen dead crawfish 💀. Not the same as the south having them live to boil.

Not true at all? We have live crawfish but only during certain times of the year, we do get absolutely fucked by restaurants though. Some restaurants will charge $15-$20 a pound for live crawfish while offering $10-$12 a pound for frozen crawfish. I usually just watch for Asian supermarkets to carry them, sometimes I can get it for as low as $5 a pound for live crawfish. Definitely not as big as what you can get in the South though but it works

There’s that Louisiana crawfish company guy all over KZbin and Tiktok and he does overnight shipping.

Almost every place I've had in the bay area is exactly like this from the boiling crab to rocking crawfish these places are not getting anything shipped overnight they order it exactly like frozen shrimp. If they took five seconds to learn anything they could actually make more ordering fresh Louisiana style crawfish instead of that tiny cheap Chinese trash.

How does one eat the soft shell crab? Is it like eating regular crab?

You just bite into soft shell crab. It's the same crab but it's during a time where the crab is molting (shed out of their old shell) and the new shell is soft during a season, so it's soft enough to eat and no need to crack open the shell. Just deep fry and enjoy the crab whole.

Crawfish is actually extremely healthy to eat by the way. I didn’t know that until doing a bit of research on them. They offer a lot of vitamins and minerals similar to salmon. Obviously the way you cook crawfish will largely matter too though.
