There are a lot of kids who will use the shower for self harm. The “restrictions” would most likely be like supervision or limiting you to 1 shower a day.

I’ve had manic times, too, and it is hard to control. I’m pretty sure I have BPD, which I’m working on things in therapy with getting diagnosed with different things. Also, I was wondering if I even potentially have bipolar, as well. I’m not really sure. I guess it’s something I’ll continue to explore in therapy. I’m honestly enjoying watching your mental health journey. I know how difficult it is to share that type of stuff.

Thank you for the vids. I'm looking for some details about mechanical eating guidelines, if you can help me out. I have never been in-patient, but have worked with eating disorder detitians (ED RDs and have been in ED support groups for years. 1. I have a meal plan and eating schedule. When working with my ED RD, I never asked or heard an answer to "How late can I start eating the meal or snack after the specified time?" I've heard you say in in-patient people get 35 min. for a meal + 5 min. extra if needed, otherwise it's "Incomplete." I'm wondering, for at-home outpatient, if, say, my lunch time is noon, how much later than noon can I start the meal, please? Do they give a guideline for mechanical eating at home, such as "You must start lunch at noon (or other specified time) - 12:15. Then you have 35 minutes to finish it." Or do they say, "You have to start by noon, and finish by 12:35"? I set my alarms for 15 min. before the meal and snack times, to prep, and an hour before dinner. But then I slack, turn off the alarms without even realizing or remembering that, and then start eating hours, or half a day, later. Any info on this, please? I just can't imagine being so organized as to sit down at every meal and snack and start eating exactly on time. For even one of the meals per day, let alone six. Thanks again for your helpful and amusing/creative videos.

I think with any time at the residential setting, it really will depend on how motivated people are to recovery. I was fortunately with a very good group of folks. However one friend had a miserable experience when she was there. Also the cork strips are now bigger! I found that my discharge planning was wonderful but I know it really depends on who you got, and your community. My team was already assembled at home so it wasn’t a big thing for me...I was on assessment for two weeks due to coming in on a Monday.

such an interesting video, thank you for sharing this stuff. i have recently been diagnosed with an ED, i am also apparently severely malnourished and at risk for many things. i am walking that hospitalized/not hospitalized line right now, and it´s a huge (and pretty much only) motivation to recover, or at least, for now, gain some weight and up my intake, to "show progress". i´ve been upping slowly, it´s really fucking hard and no weight gain yet. i´m terrified of being hospitalized tho, i am still holding out hope.

Hun, you are beautiful. And by manic do you mean bipolar? You don’t have to say if you are uncomfortable, but one of my best friends has bipolar and I was wondering how different are manic and depressive episodes in different people. Like she just becomes so reckless and has a I don’t care attitude about literally everything, but you wouldn’t think much of it unless you already know her. And depressive episodes are just really hard to watch, she becomes so... there isn’t really a word for it but it’s like you can literally see it in her eyes how tired and flat she is. I was just wondering if (if you meant bipolar) your episodes were the same? If not sorry that you wasted your time reading this :)
@puritymua17634 жыл бұрын
Shaya Moeini hi, I have bipolar for me my manic episodes usually are like my adhd is on steroids. I’m heavily excitable and hyper to the point where it often seems fake or forced. That or I become so fixated on needing to change something about myself or my life because I feel out of control, it often includes dying my hair, rearranging my room, and other things. My depressive episodes can range from just causing me to sleep to having to be hospitalized. If you have any questions I’ve dealt with many mental issues since I was a child and would be happy to answer them, I hope my experiences have help you understand a bit more

I don’t think I have an eating disorder but what is this, or is this just me -I do not like meat, if I have meat, I just won’t beable to swallow the meat -I will take forever to eat, I will take up to 1:30 hours to eat. Definitely won’t finish the food in 35mins -if something doesn’t look right, i will not eat it. Say my banana is Bruised, I won’t eat it -I don’t have much food at meal times. -never ask for seconds, unless it’s pizza or chips (unhealthy dinners) -always leaves stuff on my plate -don’t eat a lot fresh food bc I’m scared that it will be spoiled -I am under weight for my age
