I am so happy to have fresh lettuce in January! Although we got a freeze, and I didn't cover it and yesterday it was looking a little wimpy... But thank you!

Hey Mandi! Love this video. So many great ideas and re ipes. Im with you i cannot do corned beef hash. Or any corned beef. 😂 but my husband loves it so on occasion i'll whip up a similar breakfast like your for him. Live your garden. I need to get better at gardening. I almost had 3 or 4 watermelons growing til a frost came through and killed the whole thing. I even had them covered 😢 I have a blackberry bush and a blueberry bush that I thought was dead but i've been seeing some new growth so im just gonna leave it alone and pray something comes from it LOL we'll see. Thanks so much for sharing your week with us. Have a blessed day my friend ❤

Hey! Thanks so much for watching! How are you? Yes, no corned beef!😂 lol but we gotta make it occasionally for the hubbs… sorry about your watermelons! Try again in the spring! I hope you have many blackberry’s and blue berries this summer!! I had a raspberry bush once and for some reason the dog dug it up over and over again. She hated it 😆 thanks for your sweet comment! Have a great rest of your week!

Wow so many options with that turkey meat! A turkey shepherd’s pie, would be easy and using up leftovers. A layer of turkey, topped with gravy, then use green bean casserole on top of that( or mixed vegetables), then top with cream potatoes and sprinkled with cheese. Turkey tetrazzini changes the taste all up. Could make a Turkey and stuffing casserole and freeze for later. Could make a turkey pot pie, Turkey & sausage gumbo. Cranberry sauce made into a jello salad or a salad made with cool whip, crushed pineapple, box of pudding, cranberry sauce, mini marshmallows and chopped nuts ( if no nut allergies). Make green bean casserole, vegetables used to season turkey and broth to make a soup with some stock and few extras added in. Like diced potatoes, little bit of pasta, peas, and turkey pulled from wings. A copy cat soup from Olive Garden of chicken & Gnocchi( substitute chicken with turkey) or make a creamy chicken & Wild rice soup using turkey instead of chicken and couple of packages of uncle Bens long grain and wild rice. Also can use your rolls to serve with one of these or make Italian Sliders out of some of the turkey! Serve with dips and chips. Easy dishes with loads of flavor and some to freeze for later( like pot pie and shepherd’s pie). Some $ Tree stores have the premade gnocchi for $1.25. Just have to cook in soup for chicken & gnocchi. For chicken salad, try adding some craisins and chopped pecans. Serve as sandwiches, with crackers or on a lettuce leaf. Along with a sliced beet, red onion & orange salad with a lite raspberry salad dressing. These are some of our favorites. 😊

@mandiesplace11 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I know I have made it before I will look for the video! But I will type it out for you! 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes 10 oz shredded cheese (divided) Or 1/2 for the sauce and some for the top. 11/2 cups milk 1/2 onion diced 3 TBL flour 3TBL butter 1 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper sauté onions in butter, turn on low and add flour cook until lightly brown. Slowly whisk in milk add salt and pepper. remove from heat add 1/2 cup cheese. layer potatoes with cheese sauce. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour. top with cheese. broil for 3-4 minutes or until brown. let cool. We add chopped ham when we have it. Layer it with potatoes in the pan probably 1-1 1/2 cups.

Wow, your family is blessed to have you in their kitchen!!! Your garden is doing amazing! I've never tried to grow broccoli, but that would be so amazing to have in the backyard. The cabbage/bacon/egg dish is so unusual, I've never seen that done before. I made cornbread in a cast iron pan for the first time at my son's house over Christmas - so good that way! I bought a similar chopper box at Aldi, and used it once - it's going to the Goodwill because it's so hard to clean the plastic part that pushes food through the holes, lol. 🤡
@mandiesplace11 ай бұрын
Awe thank you Sheri! I am loving the garden! I can't believe I grew broccoli! Amazing! The cabbage dish was so good! I wouldn't have tried it before, but I think I'm going to make it again today! You should try it it's also low carb. I really like the cornbread in the cast iron pan as well! I have seen the choppers with a removeable screen on the plastic top part and to clean it you just pull of the rubber screen and BAM! all the food comes with it! I use a butter knife its not to bad but a little annoying. I hope you have a great day!

If you do a grocery haul before you start and give yourself $100 for January, is it really a pantry challenge? I know it’s everyone’s own rules but that’s not really challenging the pantry……. !? Lots are doing it like this but how can you tell if your pantry works? I’m from the UK… perhaps I just don’t get it? I do love your channel btw x
@mandiesplace11 ай бұрын
Well I don’t think that my pantry is prepared enough to support us without going to the store yet. Also, I can go to the store. Im just not buying things for my pantry or freezer this month because I want to use up things that I have been storing for a while. It’s your own rules because everyone is at a different level of preparedness. I feel like I’m at a level that needs to allow me to go to the store and buy some fresh items. I did a normal weekly grocery haul before I started. I didn’t bulk buy for the next month.I understand what you’re saying and I hope you understand.

Do you have a video on how you make your dog food? If you do sorry I’m new to your channel
@mandiesplace11 ай бұрын
Hi! thank you for stopping by! I don't have a video I am actually new to making it. I have been using turkey, either leftover or ground and mixing it with rice and peas and carrots. I need to do a little more research before making a video I am not really sure on what amounts of the ingredients, yet I am still mixing it in with her dry food until I am comfortable, she's getting all the protein she needs from homemade. Hopefully soon! Thanks for your comment!
