If you compare this conversation to the conversation in the first world countries, yes it looks like a scam and harassment. I can't deny that. But, I think we need to have a wider perspective. He is working in India and probably grew up there. If you forget his individual identity for a while, he is the product of the Indian society and culture. Every society has a different way of dealing with situations. That's how people talk in urban India. Offers are repeated more than once and bargaining takes place for minutes. The same almost happened to me in bangalore. An auto driver said to me giving 30 rupees and he will make 3 famous places only just view from outside include vidhansoudha, radio station, governor house.all three places are in one kilometre and i agreed . He said after visiting places there is government discount weaving Shop and supporting for weavers in Karnataka and accordingly to him which is a government initiatives and visited the Shop which was literally a scam Shop and charging over price.They totally depends on auto drivers who brings customer to their shop and getting commission and came out from the shop without buying anything and the auto driver was so angry that i didn't buy anything.
