As an Indian, I cant even watch this. Just cringy beyond imagination. Mobility is a major factor in quality of life. Ppl on our streets whose main occupation is to obstruct other ppls mobility and scam them and loot them is just shameful. Also, our typical Indian habit of jumping on ppl and bombarding them with questions is just impolite and exhausting. Its not a cute habit of being curious. Its IRRITATING and off-putting beyond measure. People should learn to mind their own business and keep distance.

One guy got on our back trying to convince us that his is the best price and we ended up taking his auto. He literally would not let us talk to any other auto and while we were returning he again was there right outside the gate and started to harass us again into taking his auto. I had to shout at him just to get him off our back. I am an Indian and this is the case with Indian Tourist, I can only imagine what happens with foreigners. These touts are used to fleecing foreigners especially tourists. This situation is the reality in several Indian cities including Jaipur. Dishonesty, greed, lies actually destroys their credibility. Sooner or later, foreign and domestic tourists will avoid their extortion and blatant corruption. I still believe that most people in Jaipur are not greedy, corrupt or dishonest but the repeated harassment of visitors by such touts should be addressed by the government in Rajasthan and local citizens as well as those running shops, restaurants, hotels, tourist spots and selling items and handicrafts to tourists. Silence in the face of ongoing extortion = loss of business and reduction in tourists. Tourists will go to other cities and places in India where extortion is not rampant.

I’m from Dausa district in Rajasthan, and I had to go from Jaipur Airport to the bus stand. I booked an Uber. When I saw the car, the driver wasn’t there. The security guards were looking for him, and after a few minutes, he showed up. He took about 5 minutes, which is the time before parking charges kick in. The driver hadn’t taken a parking ticket after entering the parking area. When we reached the exit at Jaipur Airport, we were stopped for the parking ticket. The Uber driver said he was on "Army duty." When the security guard asked for proof, the driver showed some documents, but they looked fake to me. The guard asked why he had come there, and the driver said he was supposed to pick up an officer. When the security guard asked me, I denied any connection with the army and clarified that I had booked the car as an Uber. So, the driver had to pay the parking fee. After that, as we were leaving the airport, the driver asked me to cancel the Uber ride, saying he would drop me off for the same price if I paid him directly. I refused to cancel the ride. There seems to be an Uber scam like this in Jaipur, so be careful. A similar incident happened to a friend of mine who was picked up from the airport early in the morning. The driver tried to overcharge him, and he barely managed to get away safely.
@falcon20243Ай бұрын
Its because of greedy Adani. For like 10 years before Adani took the contract, you could use ola or Uber and drivers would just come from outside the airport and if they take you within the 5-6 minutes time they pay no parking. It doesn't happen anymore. Now these apps force you to go to the stand and pay more than double to the taxis standing there. F U Adani

Why did you cancelled the Uber booking and agreed to go with their price in the first place? Don't ever place yourself inside that kind of gangs, instead go a little far and call the driver from the Uber app to pick you up from there. And if there's no other option than cancelling, then cancel with a complaint then book another. And if that driver does do the same then cancel that too with a complaint. These people are need to be teached a lesson. We indians ourselves are not happy with these kind of dishonest greedy people.

wtf is 'north India'? You sound like a commie. India is India, and good and bad things can happen anywhere, even outside of India. Also there's no such thing as 'north India' or 'south India'. It's not because of one belonging to a particular region that one behaves a certain way, more because of their upbringing and manners. Also Rajasthan is in the WEST of India. Also, going by your stupid logic everyone in 'south India' would be saints (because they are from 'south India') and everyone living in the northern would be demons. Stop looking down on your own countrymen, you don't even know 1% of them.

Jaipur is just an overhyped city. They attract tourists just by advertising heritage buildings. But the behaviour of localities towards tourists is pathetic. All just want to loot the foreign tourists especially the Autos and Taxi walas. And this is the same in all Central Belt (Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar). I belong to this belt only and when I visited different states, there were more beautiful places/cities in India. You will get better treatment from the localities like on the northern side above Uttrakhand, Himachal, North East States and Maharastra and southern states.
