Wow !!!! Gary Eats !!!! I have seen your vids ! Watched your Lido one from China Town… been there a few times myself, last time we went we were taken upstairs… We left straight away though as the smell of damp was overwhelming. Great food and meal if your downstairs though matey 😉

Completely agree, Wimpy is the best. The reason the chips are always pipping is that they only cook them as and when they need them. The only way of getting hot chips in McDonald's is to ask for no salt. When they give you your food, ask for some salt sachets. This way you'll get them fresh out the fryer.

Great trip down memory lane... Had a big Wimpy in my town back in the 90s and prob shut around 20 years ago. The food always being cooked fresh was key, and the milkshakes were the business, too!

That was in Clacton, so fine dining for there 🤣 Used to love the Wimpy at Rownham's services going westbound, and used to always stop in there when I was driving back home from the base on a Friday afternoon. I see they've got one in Dartford and one in Bexleyheath, so will have to try and pop in next time I'm at the o2 for boxing. Keep up the good work, mate!

Brown bread bun 😢😢😢. Agree about the chips in kebab shops , it’s because the oil is too hot , so they turn the outside brown very quickly not cooking the inside fully. Was the branch you eat at in New Malden ?

Wow! We had a Wimpy in my home town until I was a bout 7 or 8 years old. I went to a few birthday party’s there and sometimes we would have dinner there as an after school treat! I remember loving those thick shakes!!!!

I used to be a waiter at the Wimpy in Portsmouth in the mid 70's (75p per hour). Worked there 3 evenings a week as well as a full 6 day a week full time job. Wimpy was a burger-munching cartoon character in the Popeye series.

Depends what mcds you go to, one of my locals are just warm most of the time, but the other is usually hot and crispy nearly every time. Plus the straw goes soggy before youve even finished a soft drink - they're awful... i mind before burger king changed to paper, taking a load of their plastic ones just to use when visiting mcds!

I love Wimpy. There are only 62 restaurants left in the UK so they are slowly dying out which is such a damn shame. The comparison to McDonald's was a bit strange. McDonald's is grab and go fast food whereas Wimpy is a fully fledged restaurant with waiter service and everything is cooked to order, so there is no comparison to McDonald's.

Your right about McDonald's the food is always cold or luke warm, I always send it back and ask them to do it again and instead of leaving it on the side to go cold bring it to me as soon as it's cooked even if the chips are cooked first bring the chips then the burger, it's gone down hill since it got took over, bring back wimpy to Tamworth lol
