@@Jamesnu My situation is likely even worse. I am originally from Europe. Long ago, cruel destiny forced me to come to the usa where I've lived in North Eastern PA and near Chicago, not far from Waukegan and Libertyville. In those locations it was not too bad "foodwise"as there are large concentrations of different immigrant ethnic groups with their cuisines and they have their groceries and restaurants. Myself, I lived within the Serbian community and also hung out with Russians, Poles, Germans, Croatians and Hungarians. I am a mix of some of these ethnicities. I mostly ate Serbian food but often went to Polish restaurants and shops. BUT, the food is not the same as in the old country, because the meat and produce generally available in the usa is inferior in quality and taste in comparison to most European countries. Thus, cevapi made from american meat are not the same as those made in Serbia or Croatia from farm raised animals. But, at least, in the big cities, the so called metropolitan areas of the US, our type of food is available. But, unfortunately, many years ago, my work forced me to move to the upper northern Midwest, near the Canadian border, to one of those "fly over states"in the great plains, where i now live in a town of about 60,000. IT IS TRULY A CULINARY WAISTLAND, which is sad, because the Midwest is the grain, bread basket of the USA and even the world, being a vital agricultural area with huge farms and fields, planted with durum, corn, soy, sun flowers and other crops. But, the average locals here can't really cook and have no clue of what good food is. When you mention cheese, they think of Velveeta or American slices. (Enough said, LOL, sad, but true) I am fortunate, because I do know how to cook and bake and am able to make bread and even very nice pastries. although some ingredients needed for certain dishes are some times not available. BUT, I do miss the ethnic restaurants and markets in the city where I can get tasty things to eat, that I don't have to prepare myself, because, I confess, although I do know how to cook quiet well, I absolutely HATE to do it, and even more so, to clean up afterwards. So, yeah, when watching food review vlogs like yours, I really get very envious, when I see what's available back in civilization. I enjoy following you on your culinary journey, you are so enthusiastic about it and adorably greedy when you gobble up your food.

@@manofreddi4166 Thank you! That's a frustrating situation to be in. I feel like I take for granted sometimes all of the restaurant options around me when there are so many other places that simply don't have the variety of a big city. That's actually one of the reasons why I moved to New York, since at least in the US, it has the widest variety of food. I can definitely relate to you when it comes to cooking. As much as I love food, I would rather somebody else cook and I hate the cleanup! Thanks for watching and I appreciate the support!

I love that he addresses the MUSICAL atmosphere of most of these places. That is SUCH a make-or-break deal for me (namely, the VOLUME!) and is almost _always_ overlooked by other FoodTubers. If you have to lean in or raise your voice to be heard (or hear) at your table, that’s a BIG-ass “L” for the owner/manager! I can’t count how many restaurants (especially the last 10 years or so) I’ve walked in and pulled a ‘U-ey’ b/c of too-loud music. And positively, when he specifically named the _songs_ he heard while dining (e.g., Journey & other mellow cuts) … that really IS thee most underestimated factor in dining. That’s my story and … (you get it) 🤓 🥳 *Edit: “Washroom”! MUST be Canadian, yeah? 🤷♂️😀
